Q: Why do more people buy the toyota camry than the honda accord ?
When i research cars online, I get a lot of reviews about how the honda accord is a better overall car than the toyota camry. Why does the camry have more models sold than the accord in 2008? I’m not trying to say that one car is better.

A: People buy the Toyota because they prefer either the styling, price, availability, or packaging over the Accord. It’s true that one may not be any better than the other. Also, keep in mind that many people are repeat buyers. If they bought a Toyota Camry back in the 1990s or early 2000s and loved it, then logically, they’ll buy it again. Why do you think people buy more of the Ford F-Series and Chevrolet Silverado than the Accord and Camry?

Don’t believe what anybody says about reliability either, since the Buick Regal, Ford Fusion, Mercury Milan, and Subaru Legacy all beat out the Accord and Camry in reliability in recent years.

I hope this has answered your question. If you have any more, please feel free to ask.

Q: How do we uninstall the factory stereo in 2008 toyota camry and replace with aftermarket DVD player?
We just bought an aftermarket DVD player for our 2008 toyota camry. It came with all the wiring and a good diagram of how to connect everything. The only problem is we are not sure how to get the old stereo out and put this one in. Anyone know how to remove and reinstall or have a good website with information on how to do this?

A: the ac panel actually just pops out you will need a panel tool or a smaller flat head screwdriver to pop that panel out and then there are 4 10 mil bolts back there holding in the radio and then the radio pulls out

Q: How to get rid of a Toyota Camry (1989) when auto-transmission just died. Business to take it away for cash?
I have a Toyota Camry 1989 that starts first time everytime, but the automatic transmission has died while on holidays. It is in good condition except for the auto transmission. Do I fix the transmission and sell it, or is there a business that will take it away and pay a bit of cash? What businesses are there? I’ve bought a new car.

I live in MacGregor (Brisbane) Australia

A: The nearest auto junkyard will probably pay a little for it.

Q: My Toyota Camry car consumes excess fuel especially at initial start up and does not smoke?
The fuel guage falls faster within the first 30 mins or there about until the engine Temperature rises. Car make is Toyota Camry 1992 Model

A: It is normal for cars to consume more fuel on initial startup on cold days. One thing to remember is that an engine always runs most efficiently when it is warmed to operating temperature. Now, there is not a lot of information in the question, but what I would do to achieve optimun gas mileage is insuure that the tires have the proper air pressure, a good tune-up including the air and fuel filters and have as less weight as possible. proper tire pressure alone will give you a noticeable difference in fuel economy.

Q: How much would a paint job cost on a 1991 toyota camry approximately?
I have a 1991 Toyota Camry that I want painted yellow (lol). Obviously I don’t want to spend too much on the paint job because the car is so old, but I don’t want it to look like crap either. Can anyone give me a good estimate?

Thanks!

A: 12

Q: Where can i find a copy of toyota 2004 camry user manual?
I bought a used toyota camry 2004 that did not come with a user manual. Is it available online?

And what is the difference between a user manual and a service manual?

A: The dealership has them!!! Just go and ask them and they will order it for you!!!

Q: What is the average life span of a toyota camry?
I own a 94 Toyota Camry. It was just given to me last year, w/ only 60k miles. It just broke down due to a human error (it had no coolant and the engine fried)

Is it worth replacing the engine I wonder

A: Certainly!!! Toyota’s reputation is known for its longevity and dependability. You can fix the engine fairly easily. I am assuming that this is a 4 Cyl engine. You can learn a lot by doing this yourself. You will need to remove your cylinder head, have it cleaned and milled (machine shop $50-75) and install a new head gasket. Be sure to use only genuine Toyota parts. Also, be sure to use Toyota coolant, as its special formulation should maintain your new gasket, aluminum and plastic parts in your cooling system, and protect your water pump better than the “green” stuff. You should replace your timing belt at this time as well. Get a Haynes or Bentley manual and follow directions. A well kept Toyota engine will last for several hundred thousand miles with proper maintenance.. If the idea of fixing this yourself is too beleaguering, you can find a perfectly good used one at car-parts.com. Remember to flush your cooling system, either way, and stick to a good quality synthetic oil when repairs are done. Talk to you again at 260,000 miles!!! Good Luck!!

Q: How much could I get for a 1998 Toyota Camry that blew a rod?
I have a 1998 Toyota Camry that threw a rod on the interstate. The engine is seized (obviously) so it needs a new engine. If I sold it as is, how much could I get for it?
If yo don’t think I could sell it as is, how much would i get if I sold it as a parts car?

A: As is?

$200-$500

If you sold the parts off it you might get a little more. But the amount of work and trouble it would take wouldn’t be worth it.

You are better off either selling it as a whole, or to a junker.

Q: How much money did you spend on you Toyota Camry?
Thinking about buying a 2010 toyota camry, do not know how much i should spend. How much have you guys spent when you bought your camry, and in which year. What kind of offer did you get from the dealer. I just need a reliable car to commute between school and work, not a sport car, so can somebody estimate my price range on a 2010 Camry for me.
Thanks in advance.

A: What trim level? V-6 or 4 cyl? Too many variables. If you’d like to get some info on this go to www.edmunds.com and see …

Q: How many miles can a toyota camry 1998 get?
I am trying to get from High Desert Ca 92345 to San diego and back I am wondering If a full tank of gas could do it or not? How many miles on a Full Tank of gas can a toyota camry 1998 get ?

A: carry a can of gas and some extra moulah to buy more gas … the ‘98 T. can get as much mpg’s as 28/30 on level ground at slower speeds and lower rpm’s ____ on a mountain road less mpg’s and is the car totally in a state of ””’ tune-up”” road worthy .. any slight miss will affect the mpg’s and remember that the ride is 12 years old and new cars get better mpg’s than used … I understand that you need to conserve the $$’s —- but___start out with a full tank of gas and write down the speedodometer miles and then when you get to your destination fillup again and subtract the spent miles and divide the gas gallons into the miles driven and then you will know for sure what MPG’s you are getting..

Q: How do you replace a right front blinker on a 1993 Toyota Camry?
My boyfriend has a mildly beaten up but still well running 1993 Toyota Camry. We recently got into a minor accident in which we exchanged car paint with the other car and knocked out our right front blinker light. We didn’t break the anything on the front or dent it, it just stopped working. Please help?

A: You can reach the signal light from under the bumper. You may have to remove the plastic splash guard. You can then give the bulb socket a 1/2 turn and it will come out. You probably have a bulb that is no good.

Good luck.

Q: How much would you pay for a 4 cylinder ‘99 Toyota camry with 197000 miles?
I am looking to buy my first car and i have the option of the ‘99 toyota camry. The body needs a little work but runs just fine.

A: no more than 3,000,

my friend has a 00 Camry with 168,000 and his automatic transmission is having problems.

just saying have it checked by a mechanic first and “low ball” because you can get a good deal this way and IMO its not worth more than 3k maybe 3.5k tops.

Q: How do I install aftermarket speakers in a 2000 Toyota Camry?
I want to install some 6×9 aftermarket rear speakers in my Toyota Camry. I already have the old speakers out, but the screw holes in the new speakers don’t line up with the factory holes. How do I attach the new speakers to the car? (Also I don’t have a speaker bracket.)

A: Assuming that the speaker fits securely in the opening without gaps, use self-tapping screws to mount the speaker in the deck metal. You’ll just have to make your own holes.

If the speaker doesn’t fit securely or if there’s a gap, you’ll need to fabricate or purchase a mounting bracket.
