Q: Nissan Altima?
Woudl you consider a Nissan Altima a good first car?
learned to drive in a suv. don’t think its to big
i mean more on safty and features of that nature. fuel economy would be helpful too.
A: as a altima owner myself i think its agreat first car if you can try to get a 2000-2006 because it is still simple to do mechanical work by yourself is easy to maintain and there are upgrades for your engine and style if you want them i fill up my gas tank with 25 dollars and it last me a week and a half and i do alot of driving it has alot of space and it’s not as big as you might think you feel very comfortable driving it believe me it has more horse power than a corolla or civic so you shoodn’t have any trouble getting pass a car but if it’s your first car just make sure you really like a car so you wont spend your monewy on something that your going to trade in later
Q: Nissan altima?
are this realy great as every one says i have a dodge intriped and it drive smooth and i want to get something differnt this time and every one says the altima is great
A: The 2008 was rated as the highest scoring sedan by Consumer Reports.
Go test drive one and tell us what you think.
Trust me, it’s way better than a Dodge Intrepid.
Q: Why does my 98 nissan altima make a squealing noise when i first start accelerating but stop when i get my?
speed up? It is 1998 Nissan Altima, and here recently the water in it was low and I filled it up but now its making a squealing sound..? What can this be? And how can it be fixed.
A: The belt could be the culprit, but since you mentione your coolant level was low, it could have caused your water pump to cavitate becuase of air. Try getting your belts replaced first. If that doesn’t stop the squealing, have your water pump removed/inspected by a reputable mechanic and see if it needs replacing.
Q: I have a 2001 nissan altima and the key turns freely in the ignition but doesn’t start. HELP?
I have a 2001 nissan altima and the key turns freely in the ignition but doesn’t start. The power comes on but it won’t turn over its loose.
A: The ignition cylinder is broken and must be replaced. You may also need to replace the steering column as well.
Q: How to permanently disable the nissan altima 2006 inmobilizer system?
I Just brought a Nissan Altima 2006 with 50k miles, drive it the first day and behave just like new. The second day It didn’t start, i got only one key. I assumed the key is not working well, so it activates the inmobilization system that prevents the car to start. I wish somebody knows how to deactivate this system, so I get rid of the problem forever.
A: Sorry but you can’t. Get a new key that works properly.
Q: Why does my Nissan Altima sputters when I sit at a long traffic light?
My 2001 Nissan Altima, sputters when I sit at a long traffic light. I have had the throttle body clean, the air/fuel filter replace and a tune up. One thing mentioned was that my car should use NDK spark plugs, but I do not have them. My car never stalls, it only sputters. But when the air conditioner is on the car idle is smooth. Any ideas? Thanks!
A: I know that my truck stutters when i use cheap gas. Maybe that might help.
Q: Where can i send a 1999 Nissan Altima for servicing?
A friend of mine has just bought a used 1999 Nissan altima with 120,000 miles on it. What kind of servicing needs to be done for this car? What kind of a place would handle that?
A: Did it come with reccords, or has it been maintained properly.
It should already of had timming belt, trans flush, and radiator flush. If you can get it on a lift and see how the cv joints and the trans axel boots look(check for holes in the boot)Check the filters and simple things help too. Chances are if it was taken care of it should be in pretty good shape. Hopefully it wasnt a northern vehicle(salt sucks)
Q: Need internal engine work on a Nissan altima 2008. Do I need to install a new engine or rebuilt one?
Want to do internal engine work on a Nissan altima 2008. The engine rattling badly, but car runs. Do I need to install a new engine or rebuilt one, how much is approximate cost? The basic and power train warranty voided by Nissan due to water damage to car. The engine is 2.5 L. and the car is Nissan Altima Hybrid, 2008 with 22K miles. The hybrid system is still under Nissan warranty.
A: If the water damage is the cause of your engine troubles, your auto insurance should cover it.
Q: How much would a factory installed 2009 Nissan Altima radio be priced at?
I’ve been looking around for a good base car and have decided on the Nissan Altima. The only thing is, the base doesn’t come with a radio. I’d like to get a radio from the dealership without upgrading from a 2.5 to a 2.5 S, so does anyone have any idea how much it would cost to have the radio installed on the new car at purchase?
Thanks
A: To much go aftermarket you will get more bang for buck
Q: Is it worth the money to keep a 2002 Nissan Altima body and change the engine and transmisson?
I want to buy a used Nissan Altima 2002 which has over 150,000 miles. Then I’ll change the engine and transmission to make it newer. Is it worth the money and time to change the engine and transmission? Or I should just buy a new or used Altima without doing any mechanic work?
A: You sounds like you want to give yourself a headache. Me, I might replace my wifes corolla’s engine and because I have to and not because I want to. It has 150,000 miles too and I feel it start to burn oil. The car is still under observation. If it fails the smog. That is the time I will fixed the problem. If you really like the body of Altima then go ahead. But that is a lot of money. I will give you this website to get a good deal. good luck. http://car-part.com/
Q: Getting a Nissan Altima Coupe 3.5 SE. What are some things I can add to make my car look better?
Im getting the Nissan Altima Coupe 3.5 SE next week. i know the car is pretty loaded but there are a lot of stuff I’m sue I can do to it to make it perform better and look better.
There are some things I’m going to do like add a spoiler, Tint the windows, and lower it, but any other additional suggestions would be awesome even if there little suggestions.
Anything is appreciated and welcome!
A: Altima Coupe really needs 19″ custom wheels and quality name brand low profile tires if you can finance them in the purchase price. But keep the stock wheels for either snow tires or just to gather dust in the garage. Next thing is some 1.5 inch lowering springs when you install the sway bars you’ll want because those tires allow you to corner harder. Custom chrome grill looks nice too. see “tirerack.com” put the coupe on the screen and try several sets of wheel tires on line. Spoiler don’t do it! Drill holes in your trunk lid to tack on a piece of plastic that does not make the car drive any better and may leak water. Wait until the complete body kit you want is available then get the correct matching spoiler.

A: What year? And please god don’t get a spoiler that’s gay. I’m answering this as passive aggressiveness for my own satisfaction against my ex. These were things he did to any car he got.
Get the mudflaps if any off, along with the pinstriping if you have it and dealership logos, leave the Nissan maybe but pop off the word Altima. Then hopefully you can find someone who knows how to wetsand and buff. You can take off your wiperblades on good weather days, most people can’t put their finger on why it looks cleaner but the blades are missing. What else, nice looking exhaust pipe.
Change your interior shift knob, you can take out the black plasic that covers the gauge cluster and paint it whatever color and put it back in – it’ll make the whole cluster look aftermarket though it’s not. I don’t know how he got it out from behind the clear piece…you’d have to figure that out I think he slid it out somehow from behind without removing the clear part.
The biggest advice though is make it look clean with clean lines. Make sure the spoiler fits the lines of that body style…please. Lower it nice on some 17’s; 18’s or bigger just look awful on a coupe. Tuck em, no wells left. If you lower it but don’t have rims yet, roll ‘dirty’ so it looks like you’re between your sets. lol. Good luck.
Q: Who knows where to get a cheap 96 nissan altima gxe engine from?
I recently purchased a 96 nissan altima gxe for $75. The woman i bought it from said it would’ve cost her $700. But i need to know where i can get a relatively low miledged engine from. My dad will be installing it.
A: id check around at some of the salvage yards for one they may have a low mileage one to fit it,if not they will probably know where you can get one for it at,they stay in touch with a lot of other places that sell engines also,i did this with a 91 Toyota and found a real nice engine for around 600 bucks with only 70 thousand miles on it,you may not find on right away but you will eventually find one for it,good luck with it.
