Q: Ford Fusion. . .?
We bought a 2006 Ford Fusion in April. We live on a gravel road and keep getting rocks stuck in the metal plate below the gas tank. We have had to have the dealership clean it out three times already. Anyone else having the same problem, or maybe a different one that I should watch for?

A: Yeah, I’ve got an ‘06 Fusion and have the same prob when visiting my g/f who lives on a dirt & gravel road. Slowing to a crawl is the only way to prevent rocks from being flung all over the place. But had the same problem with my other car so it’s the road, not the car.

Got 10,000 miles on my Fusion. Great car!

Q: Ford fusion?
We are thinking of buying a new fusion, model undecided yet.
Any dislikes about this car please?

A: dont buy one mate, its bad enough haveing to work on them.

Q: Is the Ford Fusion V6 a viable option for a loyal Honda Accord driver?
I currently lease a Honda Accord EXL V6 with Navi and my lease is coming to an end shortly. I have heard positive comments and reviews about the Ford Fusion. I wanted to get some opinions (pros and cons) about leaving Honda and going domestic. I am planning to test drive a Fusion next weekend. Has anyone else made the switch? What are the diffeences between the two cars? I like the price of the Fusion in comparison to the Honda.

A: Bob B is a fool. American cars are crap compared to Japanese cars – according to me, consumer reports and each car’s resale value. An average American car will remain reliable and maintenance free until just over 100k miles whereas the average Japanese car (honda, toyota and subaru) will remain trouble free until about 200k miles. If you plan to lease that may not matter to you. I love cars and I wish I could honestly recommend American but there’s just no way. The reason imports cost more is because they’re worth more (tariffs don’t explain resale value, you fools.) With Ford or GM it’s a coin toss as to whether or not you get a good one. Chrysler is complete crap and so is everything they have made for the last 20 years. Honda, toyota and subaru make nice cars, every time. IDC about the toyota gas peddle thing either, it happens. However, one of the guys I work with just bought a brand new Ford Fusion Sport, black, and it is a nice looking car – if you only want to lease it would proly serve you fine.

Q: What are the best and the worst things about the ford fusion?
I am a teenager looking for a car. My dream car has always been a white ford fusion. I just dont want any problems with it. What are some of the problems you’ve had and is it a good car for a first time driver?

A: Some problems that you might find with a ford fusion is that they last forever and so in the future when you are wanting a newer car, you will not be able to say that your car is falling apart and so you need a new one. The Ford fusion is a great car, safe, reliable, efficient and they handle great. They are a great car for anyone.

Q: How can I tell what stereo my Ford Fusion has?
I bought a 2008 ford fusion sel, and i was curious if it had the upgraded “audiophile” sound system. The system sounds great, i am just wondering.

A: The models equipped with the Audiophile package will have 6″x9″ in the rear deck. Non-Audiophile equipped vehicles will have 6″x8″ in the front and rear doors, but no 6″x9″ in the rear deck.

Q: How do you remove a ford fusion headlight?
how do you remove a ford fusion headlight? driver side headlight (not bulb) i removed a bolt behind the grille, one at the top of the headlight, then there is one wedged between the headlight and inside fender. there is no room to get to that screw. anyone know the best way to remove the light? its looks like 3 screws hold it on. do i need to remove the bumper?

A: there should be torx bits holding the head light in 3 i think one behind the grill one on the inner wing and one underneath may be a bit difficult to get out hope you get it

Q: How do you unlock a ford fusion radio keycode if you dont remeber it without having to pay 4 it?
My bf was driving a ford fusion 2 he pressed the wrong button and it askd 4 keycode help plz he doesnt no it

A: You need to remove the radio and give me the Serial no.M123456 eg.
And from that I will give you the code.

Q: How do you remove a cd stereo from a 2007 ford fusion?
I have a 6 disc cd player in my 2007 Ford Fusion and have somehow gotten all 6 cd’s stuck and they will not eject.

A: Did you turn switch on and off or disconnect reconnect battery?

Bite the bullet theory;

For single cd players:

1. remove face plate if so equipped

2. grasp cd in some form or fashion.. [fingers, tweezers, pliers, or vise grips]

3. pull cd from player…

4. replace cd if destroyed…

5. replace cd player if destroyed…

For cd changers:
1. dismantle cd changer

2. remove cds

3. rebuild or replace cd changer as needed…

4. replace cd if destroyed…

5. replace cd player if destroyed…

Doing whatever needs doing.. suffering the consequences as needed.

Q: Would a ford fusion make a good first car?
So, i’m in the market for my first car. (: I was wondering, would a Ford Fusion be a good first car? Also, how does it handle in winter? I’m in Minnesota, so we get a lot of snow, and I’m looking for something that I can drive in the snow with. So, Ford Fusion, yay or nay? Also what about a Nissan Altima? These are two things I’m looking at. Thanks much. (:
Who says I’m spoiled? I’m just asking the opinion on the car.

A: 2010 Fusion, yes, 2009 or older, no way.

The 2010s have been redesigned and they changed all the flaws in the 06-09 Fusion. Test drive a 06-09 Fusion on a highway going 65 mph, roughly. Put down the window and you’ll hear a woosh woosh woosh woosh. It is annoying–I know from a first-hand experience test-driving one.

As for the Nissan, my father is a mechanic and EXTREMELY and I mean extremely successful business owner of over 35 years. Trust me, ever since I was a small lad he’s always told me
“Never own a Nissan or a Hyundai” a trillion times. Everyone they service have HUGE problems.

What does he drive? A 2010 Toyota Avalon Limited, and although it is recall-affected, he doesn’t care. He thinks it is all a media scandal. I would skip the Fusion (if I were you) and consider A Toyota Camry or Corolla or a Honda Accord or Civic.

Good luck with whatever you get, but the Toyota or Honda would make a great first car.

Q: How do you sync a ipod touch to a ford fusion?
I have an Ipod touch 3g with 4.0 software, and a ford fusion 2010. I plugged my usb into the compartment but what do I do next? when I access my ipod in the music it says accessory connected.

A: Assuming you having sync you would press the sync button on your steering wheel and say usb then say what ever music you would like it to play, or once it is connected you can change though the songs with the next track button

Q: How do I program a new key for a ford fusion?
08 Ford Fusion. I lost one of my keys, which has built in remote. I know I can buy a new key on ebay. I would have to have it cut. Then have it programed. I still have the stickers that were on the keys when the were new. Can I do this my self? How much would a dealer charge labor to do this?

A: It will have to be done at the dealer. They will use the IDS (scan tool) to program the new key. Be sure to bring in the other key or it will not be able to be performed.

Q: How much more would I spend on gas between Grand Cherokee and Ford Fusion?
I am going out to look at cars tomorrow and really like Ford Fusions, but also like the idea of getting a Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo. The mileage on the Fusion is 21/29 while gas mileage on the Jeep is 15/19 according to FuelEconomy.gov. I’ve never owned an SUV before (replacing ‘98 Malibu) so I wanted to know if fuel costs for the Jeep would be a lot more than the Fusion or just slightly more?

Thanks.

A: It really depends what kind of driving you do. If you are a big highway driver you would save a ton on the fusion, but if it is mostly city the fusion will save you a bit but not tremendous. ALso balance the fact whether there is a lot of snow in ur area because jeeps can be great for that

Q: what kind of speakers are standard in a 2010 Ford Fusion SE?
Just wanted to know the brand of speakers that is standard in the 2010 Ford Fusion SE.

A: I don’t know but standard radio speakers are very low watt. Unless you purchased a premium sound system the best thing you can do to improve sound quality is to buy aftermarket speakers like jvc, pioneer, etc.. that have at least 40 watt capacity but an 80 watt speaker has even better sound. Easiest swap is same size and shape but you may want to have bigger speakers installed so talk to a audio salesman to see what is the best and most affordable upgrade that you can afford.

Q: What do you guys think of the Ford Fusion Hybrid?
Buying a new car soon and thinking of a hybrid. I was considering the Toyota Prius but I think it looks like a toy and girly car. So now I am considering the Ford Fusion Hybrid, what are your opinions on that?

A: It seems to be a pretty sweet car. I really like them, and my wife and I are considering one ourselves. We have not driven one yet, but will let you know if we do. From what I’ve read it seems to get about the best fuel mileage and seems to be the most usable car of the hybrids. That is just my opinion though. I am kind of a ford guy though.

Q: Ford making a come back with the Fusion?
I purchased a 2006 5 speed Ford Fusion and love it. This car is suppose to be replacing the high selling Taurus. The ride is quiet, it shifts great, and is suppose to get decent gas mileage (around 30 mpg on highway). Do you think that Ford built a winner here?

A: I’ve got just over 14,000 miles on my 06 SEL V6. Hands down the best car I’ve ever owned. Rides and handles better than my Benz and still gets attention every day. First “zero defect” car I’ve ever owned.

Ford has a winner with the Fusion and if it’s quality is any indicator, Ford has turned the corner and should return with a vengance.

Just wish they offered a manual on the V6!

Note: Contrary to what another poster stated, the Taurus is dead. There are no 2007 model year Tauruses according to Ford’s website.
