I have a 1997 Ford F-250 Diesel and I think it needs a new transmission and I’m wondering how much it would cost new.
A: i just had an estimate of 2800 to r and r and rebuild mine on an 03 there are several rebuilt ones on e-bay w/5 year warrenty for 1100 or 1200 right now

I just got a 1987 Ford F-250 and I was wondering do you only need speakers? Do they come with sub woofers in them? Also can you play music with just a subwoofer or you need both?

A: Ok your truck has factory Oe audio kit no they dont come with subs they are mids you would have to go out and purchase a subwoofer from your local audio store and some subwoofers you can play music through although it may sound distorted i would go with a dual voice coil which plays low tones for better bass and it also puts out a great deal of speak in it you can hear bass but also the words and id hook it up to a 500 to 1000 watt amplifier but it is hard to hook to a factory cd player also so id get a aftermarket stereo also
Q: How do I start a Ford F-250 with out a key?
I got a wrecked 98 Ford F-250 I need to see if the motor is good, but I don’t know how to start it with out keys.
A: U can’t. the vehicle’s ECM (computer) has a built in Anti-theft system. If the Anti-Theft does not read the chip programmed inside the key (have you noticed the keys handle has a black plastic cover? well theres a chip in there that communicates with the ECM). Unless u reprogram the vehicles computer It’s gonna be nearly impossible

I need to take the dash cover off to replace the fuel selector switch on my 1993 Ford F-250. I have done it once before, but it was years ago, and I can’t remember what I did. The problem is that I have to be able to remove the switch for the headlights, to get the dash cover off. I can’t figure out for all the world how I got it off before.
A: the know has an angled steel lock and you push in with a pick type tool from behind the knob and it slides off.

Basically the cable is so looses when I shift there is no more park it says its in park but its reverse then neutral is when the shifter says reverse than drive is when the shifter says neutral its a 2001 ford f-250 diesel super duty
A: i used to work for ford, and it is fairly easy
remove the covers that wrap around the steering column and the panel that is about where your knees are when you sit in the seat
the cable can be seen now, and some times loosenig the bolts that hold the column up to the dash(should be 13 or 15mm and might have 2 or 4 of them)then remove the cable and push it through the firewall
then under the truck it is attached to the trans
reverse the procedure for install

A: I can’t remember if that stereo requires special toos to get it out or not. The way to find out would be to see if it has 2 small pin holes on each side of the radio face plate. If they’re there, it will be obvious. You can see them just by sitting in the drive seat and looking at your radio.
If it does, that’s where the tool fits in to release the clamps holding it in. You may be able to get those from a local car audio place if that’s the case.

A: Whats the window sticker of the car you want? Lets say $35000. take 35 divide by 2 equals 17500 divide that by the length you want to lease. lets say 36 =$486.00 add tax at your tax rate but for simplicity lets say 10%=48/month total payment of 534 with excellent credit and at a good deal. thats a real number and if F250s were 310/month Ford would no longer need to build the Focus!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have 460 cubic inch 7.5 liter engine and I starting dont like gasoline engine in my truck because i have driven trucks with diesel and they impressed me, so I wonder if 7.3, 6.0 or other type of ford turbo diesel can compatible with my F-250..
A: Find a complete truck and swap everything over. Get a 7.3, stay away from the 6.0.
Wiring harness, fuel pump, suspension, radiaotr, transmission, etc.
It can be done, but it is work.

A: Virtually impossible to do without dislodging the transmission. Pay the five and save some headaches. Unless you just want to do it, you should remove trans. There are specialty wrenches designed to reach the crank bolts and experienced people can re align crank bolt holes (it only fits one way) without seeing them but it is not a trick for the faint at heart or the novice.

A: On each side of the radio you will see 2 small holes. Wal-Mart may still sell the little remover things. They are ‘u’ shaped pieces of wire that you insert in to the holes to press the clips that hold it in place. If you have a small terminating screwdriver, you can insert that into the holes (both holes per side at a time.

A: I think you can do it, not really %100 sure, open your diver’s door and there is a sticker there somewhere that would say WB and a number on it , find someone with the combo your looking for and if the numbers match the frame will support the swap. but it would be extremely expensive and laborious.
