Q: kia sorento?
the new kia sorento is supposed to have 10 speakers. where are the speakers in these located. is the new delphi an upgrade to the 6 speaker system before on 03-06 models?

A: There should be speakers on the doors, behind the back seats by the head rests, by the seat belts, maybe by your feet too.

Q: Kia Sorento?
We’re looking to buy a SUV (for our camping trips, once the baby comes along) and were wondering if we should trust Kia
Has anybody had a Kia? How good/bad was it?
Anybody had a Sorento???

A: No Kia’s. They are crap!….Go w/ Honda, Toyota, Acura. They R the best.

Q: What octane gas should I use in my 2006 Kia Sorento?
I just bought a 2006 Kia Sorento and there is no owners manual. I have been putting 85 octane gas in it(that is the lowest in my state) and was wondering if I should use 87 (which is the lowest in most states). If you have a 2006 Sorento, would you please tell me what the manual says to use. Thanks a bunch…

A: ur fine on 85 car manufactures design cars to run on “pump” gas or “unleaded” gas which is all gas..unless the car is turbo charged or running hi compression which its not then ur all set..

Q: How to install FM Direct in a 2007 Kia Sorento?
I know I have to get to the wires behind the stereo to install the fm direct but my problem is I don’t know how to get to them. So, does anyone out there know how to get behind the stereo of a 2007 Kia Sorento?

A: This document will give you illustrated, step-by-step instructions:

http://documents.victorytechnologies.com//documents/product/9448.pdf

Q: At how many miles should I expect to change the shocks on my ‘05 Kia Sorento?
I have a ‘05 Kia Sorento which I love. It has about 48k miles on it which have been mostly highway and country miles. At how many miles should I expect to need to change my shocks? Seems like it has gotten a tad rougher of a ride over the last year but the tires are also only about 6 months from needing replaced, if that matters.

A: 3

Q: How to change alternator in 2005 Kia Sorento?
I need to know how to change the alternator in a 2005 Kia Sorento. Is it very difficult? Where is it and how accessible is it? An engine diagram would be helpful also.

A: Napa= Auto ZONE =Advanced Auto don’t believe the hype That fake insurance ad saying buy aftermarket insurance and all that crap.. all over priced and beware..Write down year make model engine size 3 liter 5.o I’m not sure about what size engine that car has..This item is very basic like a battery most models positive-negative –ground and screws to hold it in place. Many workers from these discount auto stores will remove and they have test machines inside store to see if that is the actual problem. JUST ASK from my Dodge Ram to my Custom 70 Pontiac Bonneville there are basic model flat finish to stainless steel to chrome ..And of course different output levels..The alternator is a key component to energizing your battery and making a complete cycle in the engine compartment.. If you like your a/c and stereo is upgraded with the heat we have and the winters then upgrade your alternator for a few bucks it can save you some headaches ..I spent 135 from Summit a high performance after market store chrome and max output alt 2yrs ago and its runs like a champ.

Q: Does putting in a brand new engine increase the trade in value of a 2003 Kia Sorento ?
I have a 2003 Kia Sorento LX. I had a brand new engine put in at about 68,000 miles. The new engine now has about 2000 miles on it. My question is, Does this brand new engine increase the trade in value of this car ? If so, by how much would you estimate ?

A: it might to an individual but not to a dealer. the blue book does not care what you have done to the car.

Q: what could be wrong with the kia sorento?
2003 kia sorento showing misfire on cylinders 1 and 3 – what could this mean?

A: It means you have a misfire. Get it to a shop so they can inspect it properly and get an estimate on repairing it.

Q: What song plays in the commerical 2011 Kia Sorento?
I’m looking for the song, that plays in the commeircal 2011 kia sorento.
Its a family going through a forest and it goes lalala..
right answer, 10 pts.

A: The song is performed by Zooey Deschanel, but it I don’t believe there’s a full version available…It was made exclusively for Kia.

Bummer, I like it too! ; (

Q: Why can’t I find replacement bulbs for my 2005 kia sorento?
I need the amber parking lights for my 2005 kia sorento but everywhere I go including auto parts stores they’re out of stock. What the heck is going on? Does anybody know why this is?

A: It’s planned obsolence. Right now all the 2005 Sorentos on the planet are blowing their parking lights. In a few months the 2006’s will start blowing bulbs, then the 2007’s the following year, etc…

In this way Kia’s parking light makers are ensured of remaining gainfully employed for years to come.

Q: What are the pros/cons of the new Kia Sorento?
I am thinking about purchasing a Kia Sorento. How is gas mileage in your opinion? I know that gas prices are soaring everywhere so I know that I will pay at the pump. Other then that, how would you rate them overall?

A: Good choice. Cheap to buy, own, good on gas for the size and power of the car. Long warranty.

Q: What song is that on the kia sorento commercial?
does any one know the name of that song and the artist on that commercial on tv for the kia sorento with the toys in the back seat that go out on the town after they come alive?

A: “How You Like Me Now” by The Heavy

Q: something wrong with my friends Kia Sorento LX?
my friend has a black KIA Sorento LX and it keeps on leaking Anti freeze. And I told her to have it serviced. How can she stop it from leaking? with out having to take it to the dealer?

A: We can’t help you until you let us know where exactly it’s leaking from. It might need a new hose. Or a hose clamp needs tightening. Or the radiator has a hole in it and you might be able to patch it.

Q: Does kia sportage and kia sorento have same rims?
I have a 04 kia sorento and need a spare tire. the bolt pattern is 5×139.7. Now, research keep coming up with the kia sportage 94 up as a match. is this accurate?

A: Have a Look at fitment guide.

http://www.crazywheels.ca/fitment_guide.php

Q: What are some top fuel efficient midsize suvs on the market today? Kia Sorento? Honda Pilot?
I am looking for a midsize suv that gives between 18-20 miles per gallon in the city. I heard the honda pilot and kia sorento are great mid size suvs that are really fuel efficient.

A: suv’s are sooooooooooo last week

Are you looking for a Toyota Tacoma? Check out the Trusted Automotive Market Place LemonFree.com

Q: Where can I find a front drivers side seat for a 98 toyota tacoma?
I have a 98 Toyota tacoma and I have been searching for ages for a new front drivers side seat. Can anyone tell me where the best place to find one would be or point me in the direction of one? Would the seats from a 96, 97, 99, 2000 tacoma fit the car? I really need to find this seat fast, its the last part I need to completely restore my truck.

A: What I’ve done in the past is contact the bigger or cheaper auto wreckers and compare their prices and then I’ve compared the U pick auto wreckers prices and usually I end up pulling out the seats myself. Then I clean and even soap scrub the seats , allow them to sit and dry then install them using new bolts etc if possible.

To me if you want both seats to match either you need to remove or buy two seats clean etc or have the two old seats you in it reupholstered by a auto custom upholstery shop.Really if you’ve the cash you could order new seats or even have them custom made for you.

Hope that helps and best of luck.By the way 100% you can buy used seats for it bec now a days most of the auto wreckers all are connected to each other via the net etc and if the wreckers in your area don’t have the part you can get them to order them for you through their contacts.

Q: How difficult is it to install A/C in a 95 Toyota Tacoma?
I’m looking at buying a 95 Toyota Tacoma. A/C was an option and the original owner did not have it installed. The bolt are there to install it but how hard would it be. I’m somewhat handy. Is this something a mechanic would have to do or what?

A: Will be cheaper to look for a truck with the AC already installed, even if you may need to have that one’s AC fixed.

Q: Which was the last year that the Toyota Tacoma was made in Japan?
I want to buy a Toyota Tacoma but was looking at the 2009 models and they are assembled in Tijuana ,Mexico. I know Toyota is still a high quality vehicle even though this is the case, but I would rather get a slightly older model that was made in JAPAN- Transmission and Engine Which was the last model year where the Truck was made/ assembled in Japan? Thanks.
The sticker on the 2009 models say 35% parts from Japan but none are for the Engine or Transmission. Those parts state made in USA.

A: The bed for the Tacoma is manufactured in Mexico, but the Truck itself is assembled at the NUMMI plant in California. That has been the case since the introduction of the “Tacoma” from the “Toyota Truck”. The last “truck” that Toyota produced in Japan for sale in the US was the T100 before the introduction of the Tundra which replaced it and is was produced in Princeton, Indiana, and now in San Antonia, Texas.

Hope this helps.

Ken

Q: Can a person DIY an alignment at their home garage on a Toyota Tacoma 4×4?
I have a 2000 Toyota Tacoma 4wd and I would like to try and save $70 bucks if I can do the alignment myself. So far my camber on my driver side right tire is off i know this because of the abnormal tire wear. If I can rent some tools what would I need?

A: I would say it wouldn’t be worth the time, and effort ,machines are made for precise degree angles why spend hours of guessing if its going to work and jeopordize your tires wear over time , and just have to pay someone to fix it anyway. Some things are not worth the hassle and better to get it done right the first time.Just because you can go to a store and rent a nail gun and compressor doesn’t mean your qualified to build a house.Just my 2 cents.

Q: How do i take out a alpine stereo out of a 2002 toyota tacoma?
How do i take out a alpine stereo out of a 2002 toyota tacoma so i can put my new one in?

A: Radio Removal Instructions

http://documents.victorytechnologies.com//documents/product/862.pdf

Q: How do I disable a 2004 Toyota Tacoma?
I have a 2004 Toyota Tacoma that I want to be disabled temporarily. Anyone know how to do something easy to disable it?

A: Underneath the hood of the vehicle, there is a fuse box on the driver’s side. Removing the relay (a square plastic removable piece, much larger then a regular fuse) labeled “starter” would disable it from starting until it is reinstalled. They just pull out, and are easily reinstalled.

Q: How do I get rid of the beeping noise in my 2009 Toyota Tacoma?
I just bought a new 2009 Toyota Tacoma and It has a beeping tone that happens every time you start the car, put the car in reverse, take your seatbelt of when your driving, and try to listen to the radio with the door open. Its enough to drive you crazy. Does anyone know how to get rid of that noise all together, or disengage it. I have only had the truck for two months and if I cant get rid of it I will seriously consider trading it in for something else.

A: It’s fully covered by the warranty; Take it to a dealer !

Q: Is there an aftermarket rear slider window for an 06 Toyota Tacoma? If so how much and where?
I have an 06 toyota tacoma dbl cab, I shatered the rear slider but everything else is intact. The dealership said it I have to by the whole window at $700.00, thats crazy. Is there another way to fix this that doesnt cost so much? Any advice will be helpfull.

A: Ebay or a junkyard

Q: What is the box between the back seats in the toyota tacoma?
i was looking in the back seat of a toyota tacoma with the acess cab and saw a box between the two back seats. it had a blue bulb thing in the middle. i was jus curious to know what it was.

A: You were looking at the new 2009 model with the upgraded audio system and the sub-woofer factory accessory. The box between the two back seats is a housing for the subwoofer speaker.

Hope this helps.

Ken

Q: Do 2008 Toyota tacoma trucks come with aux/mp3 outlets when purchased new?
I am curious if toyota trucks with premium sound systems 2008 specifically come with these outlets as i am told two different things. Some vehicles have them hidden so i thought someone out there might know for sure. I have a 2008 tacoma with trd off-road pkg and the jbl sound system and cannot locate this outlet if it does have it.

A: If you have one it would either be in the center console,if you have one,or under the radio where the black square blanks are.

Q: When can i get a good rebate on a toyota tacoma?
I am 8k upside down on a tacoma and looking for tacoma 4 door with a rebate?? when is the best rebates on toyota?

A: Probably the best time is when they will be switching over to a new model year. Toyota did it somewhat early this year and they came in around late July. The Tacoma is tough, Toyota makes as much as they need you won’t see them back up on dealer lots too much, so if you see anything $1000 or more I would take it, probably won’t go any higher.

Q: What is the recommended oil on a 2001 toyota tacoma 4cyl?
this is the first time im doing an oil change on a 2wd toyota tacoma ‘01 that has 87,000miles.
Does anybody know what is the recommended oil to put and what is the best oil i can put? how about the oil filter? also what brands are better?? thanks

A: Synthetic Castrol or Mobil Oil are my top choices. Use 20 W 50 multigrade. As for filters try TOYOTA !!!! The price difference is not so big if compared to aftermarket brands of acceptable quality.
Good Luck

Q: Where can I get an additional or replacement gas tank for a Toyota Tacoma 4×4 truck?
I would like to add gas capacity to my 1998 Toyota Tacoma 4×4 truck. Where can I get a replacement tank that is larger than the 15 gallon stock, or where can I get a second gas tank that will fit this unit.

A: ttora.com is a really great forum for hard to find info. i would ask some of the folks there; might be someone trying to sell what you are looking for. there is probably a local chapter near you.

Q: Where to buy a ladder rack for a Toyota Tacoma?
K, I have a company truck that needs a roof ladder rack with three crossmembers

The truck is a 2008 Toyota Tacoma
It will need to be mounted on its camper shell

If you need more info for a better answer, let me know
Again, this is a company truck. I want something that will last, and don’t have the time to have one custom fabricated. I just need to know a good place to get one; price wise and you-get-what-you-pay-for wise.

A: Easy go to a fabrications shop and have them build one for you. A welding shop could do the same thing. Try farm fabricators, they tend to have the best skills because of the equipment they work with and the creativity level needed for their field.

Q: How much should i pay for a 2008 Toyota Tacoma?
I’m looking at a 08 Tacoma at a Toyota dealership. It’s a crew cab, 4×4, TRD Off road with 27000 miles and a 6spd manual transmission. The dealer has a sticker price on it of $28000, but I’ve looked it up using Edmunds TMV and they say its going for right around $20000. So what would be a good price for this truck and what would be the best way of getting it? Any help will be great! Thanks a ton!!

A: If you’ve done your research, obtained a price consensus as suggested by various vehicle price reference sources and compared the vehicle to those like it being sold in your area, then you’ve already established what the vehicle’s reasonable market value happens to be.

It’s simply up to you to negotiate with the dealer to obtain whatever price you can that’s as close to the price you believe is fair as possible. If not, you have a decision to make whether the additional cost the dealer is insisting upon to sell you that particular vehicle is worth whatever premium he may choose to hold-out for.

And it may very well prove to be that the minimum price the dealer is willing to accept and the maximum price you’re willing to pay will be vastly different sums.

Best of luck. I hope this helps.

Are you looking for a Chevrolet Traverse? Check out the Trusted Automotive Market Place LemonFree.com

Q: Why should anybody buy a Chevrolet Traverse over a Buick Enclave?
The Buick Enclave is definitely one of the most elegant SUVs I have ever seen and plan to buy. Esthetically it has a lot more going for it than comparably sized German models (Audi Q7, BMW X5, Mercedes GL and VW Touareg) and Japanese makes (Lexus LX).

What sense does it make for GM to now introduce the Chevy Traverse. It looks like a bare-bones Enclave.

A: Price. Styling.

Not everyone can afford a Buick Enclave and not everyone appreciates all the chrome that comes on the Buick Enclave. The same goes for the GMC Acadia. For these people there is the Chevrolet Traverse. It’s GM’s interpretation of the minivan.

Buick Enclave competes with luxury Crossovers/SUVs like the ones you mentioned and it beats them. Chevrolet Traverse competes with regular crossovers/SUV’s like Honda Pilot, Toyota Highlander, Ford Flex, etc.

The two vehicles compete in two completely different market segments. If any vehicle doesn’t make sense I’d say it’s GMC Acadia, because it doesn’t fit the brand profile (Professional Grade) and it somewhat competes with Enclave (luxury crossover/suv) even more so with the new Denali trim.

Q: What do you think about the all new Chevrolet Traverse?
I love it but what do you think??? What color would you get??

A: Good gas mileage for an 8 passenger vehicle. The enclave is a better ride and quieter ride. White is a good color but I like the silver. We have not had any problems and I would suggest you get the tow package factory installed.

Q: which car is better Toyota Highlander ‘10 or Chevrolet Traverse?
considering both of these are around same price range and almost everything else is the same. still which one would be a good investment and have a good resale value and be reliable to drive in real bad snow?

A: Traverse all the way, the Highlander only has one advantage: resale value because the brand is well perceived.

Facts are that Toyota has been going down in quality and reliability lately and Chevrolet is one of the best, with Ford (look at the Ford Edge).

If you want to pay more and get less go with Toyota.

Q: USB IPOD Touch connection for 2010 Chevrolet Traverse?
I have just purchased a 3rd generation IPOD touch and have also just purchased a chevrolet 2010 Treaverse. The new car has a USB port and states in the users manual that it is compatable with the IPOD touch, nano, and classic. If it is working properly I should be able to control my IPOD from the radio controls and be able to see my music list on the radio display. At this time I am unable to get the radio to recognize the IPOD and will not allow its support and function. Is there anyone out there that has had success in connecting an IPOD through a USB connection in a Chevrolet Traverse?

A: no I have not but buy an aftermarket deck w/USB and problem solved

Q: Brand new traverse chevrolet!help with right price please!?
I am shopping for a black new traverse chevrolet and the only feature i want is leather seats.I want no extra gadgets with it,just the basic.I already went to 2 different dealers and the first one was playing with the numbers and see how much he can get from me, finally he said he can give it to me for31k including taxes and admin.fees but on gray color(black is more expensive).
The other location, the guy was a butt head and very pushy trying to see if i am trading in and if i have any discounts and bla bla bla…he went down to34K.
Can someone tell me if i can get them down to my budget 28,500 including taxes and admins fees.( and that is pushing it).I love the car,i just hate how some salesmen play with the money and how much they go up and down !I get an employee discount but i feel like if i tell them up front they mark it up and then take the “discount”..can you tell me how much i can get them down /fair thank you

Another thing.if i go to one location and then go to another one, can they tell in their system if i enquired in any other locations in town?to give me price they ask for name and address….

thank you
I live in KS.

A: when i go to dealers for new cars/i look at their inventory/take hand calculator/find one you like and take 25% off the bottom bottom line/they will try to start the bull pappy but you are slightly under what they paid/make the offer/that you want the 28/500 for the whole thingy/if they start the bull pappy/say STOP/this is a very simple matter/do you want to sell it or not/somebody will want to sell one for that money and it could be y ou/yes or no/when he starts to babble again/say STOP and once you master this technique and succeed you will be like me/every body around the neighborhood wants me to go with them to buy new car

Q: Mazda CX9 vs Chevrolet Traverse?
Which is better?Im looking for something roomy.good mpg.

A: I would go with the CX9. It has better styling, is more reliable, and has better resale value. It is also better on gas.

Q: Which is better? A GMC Acadia or a Chevrolet Traverse?
What’s your opinion?

A: Personal choice. I prefer the Acadia…

Q: which is better?,,,honda crv or ford edge or chevrolet traverse ?

A: Buy Honda CRV I have the 2005 CRV-EXL its fuel efficient and quiet, has lots of room, great safety , 4 wheel drive and comes with a great 5 year warranty for full product replacement so if a part breaks or wears out quickly honda will replace the part and whats causing the problem. the stereo system is great too. basically everything is great about this car.

Q: Car shopping; torn between two cars…… Which do you think is better? Ford Explorer vs. Chevrolet Traverse?

A: Well, first of all, either option is good, because more of us need to be buying America cars
However, I think the Traverse would be a better purchase. They’ve got fantastic reviews. Chevy really did do a great job with this vehicle. I know quite a few people who have one, and they all love theirs. Another option would be a Chevy Equinox. It’s not as big as the Traverse, but both of these vehicles are really great. But yeah, I would go with the Chevrolet Traverse, but in the end, it’s you who’s buying it, so get whichever one you like the most I hope this helped, and good luck with whatever you decide to get

Q: “The all new Chevrolet Traverse” When will GM stop making rebadged junk?!!??
http://www.leftlanenews.com/.html

This is why American cars can’t sell.

Why are they so stupid? Do they think that they can sell this this Lambda platform crap as something different? It’s the same thing as the Acadia, Outlook and Enclave….GM is still stuck in the stone age.

They did the same thing with the Pontiac Grand Am/ Oldsmobile Alero, Chevy Venture/Pontiac Montana and many other GM failures.
You keep costs down buy not making cars you don’t need.

GM needs to make new and more exciting designs.
Let me try this

http://www.leftlanenews.com/chevrolet-traverse.html

http://www.motortrend.com/features/auto_news/2008/112_060208_2009_chevrolet_traverse/

Click any of the links

A: The are optioned differently and priced differently more than in the past.

Rebadging isn’t a American thing. Its an automotive thing. VW/Audi is almost entirely a rebadge. Same goes for Nissan/Infinity and Toyota/Scion/Lexus. If you look a little deeper you will see that every major manufacturer in the world is doing it.

Bill S – What plants are GM and Ford sharing? They share a transmission and thats about it.

Q: I am wanting to purchase a vehicle?
I want to get a 2009 Chevrolet Traverse financed at 39,000+, my credit sucks and it is bad. I can put down a downpayment of 20,000, what are my chances of getting it?

A: Sorry but you won’t get financed. No matter how much you put down. We’re in a recession. Credit is extremely tight. A lot of banks and lenders are closing up because of all the high risk loans they made to people with bad credit. Defaults are at an all time high. No one is doing that anymore.

In order to qualify for a loan today from a prime lender you must have at least a 725+ FICO score, less than 34% debt to income ratio, at less than 50% of your credit limits on your credit cards, no late pays and no other derogatory marks of any kind. For a subprime loan, it’s the same except they’ll accept a 650 FICO score and at less than 75% of your credit limits.

It’s bad news for you. But it’s the truth of what’s happening in the market today.

Q: Do these cars have a power rear liftgate?
Lexus RX 350 or 330
Cadillac SRX
Chevrolet Traverse
GMC Acadia
GMC Yukon Denali
Saturn Outlook
Chevrolet Suburban
Cadillac Escalade
and Cadillac Escalade ESV

Just put yes or no by the name of car, just copy and paste the car names THEN put yes or no by them
Thanks!
Oh and the Chevrolet Equinox

A: Lexus RX 350 or 330-Y
Cadillac SRX-Y
Chevrolet Traverse-Y
GMC Acadia-Optional
GMC Yukon Denali-Y
Saturn Outlook-N
Chevrolet Suburban-Optional
Cadillac Escalade-Y
and Cadillac Escalade ESV-Y
Equinox-Optional
*You know, if you went on the websites for each they would tell you, I do not know why I am doing this for you. So, I deserve the 10 pts.

Q: What SUV/Crossover should we get?
We are planning to trade in our 2003 Ford Explorer for a brand new SUV or Crossover. We’ve narrowed it down to a few options, but we need your help choosing.

Choices:

1. Dodge Journey
2. Dodge Durango
3. Kia Borrego
4. Kia Serrento
5. Chevrolet Traverse
6. GMC Acadia

Which do you think is the best? And please answer as quickly as you can… we plan to buy the vehicle tomorrow.

A: The traverse is pretty nice.

Q: Which car is better among these?
Honda CRV,
Toyota RAV 4
Mitsubishi Outlander
Mazda CX -9
Chevrolet Traverse
GMC Acadia

Which is recommended to buy as well as maintain and has very long life ?

Also WHICH HAS better features as well as better ride?

A: I love my CR-V! One thing I learned while researching before I bought it it has one of the top resale values of any car! If you get a newer model maintainance is very simple, the car basically tells you everything. It tells you when you need anything done like oil change or tires rotated I really really love my CR-V!

Q: What type of windshield wiper blades does a 2005 Chevy Cobalt use and where can I buy them?
I bought a 2005 Chevrolet Cobalt in that year, and I have not changed the wiper blades since. The blades seem to be wearing out (i.e. – They frequently fail to get about 15% of the water off of the areas they traverse), and I want to replace them. I don’t know anything about windshield wiper blades. First of all, what type of blade does my car use? What is its designation? Secondly, from which stores can I cheaply buy decent brand replacements? Thanks.

A: The factory uses a special type of wiper blade on the cobalt cars. You do not need to replace the wiper blade unless its bent. You should stop by your local chevy dealers service dept. They can replace the wiper insert (rubber part) of the wiper blade and it will work like new again. This will also cost less than replaceing the wiper blade with a aftermarket blade that will not work as well or clean as well.Best of luck.

Are you looking for a Honda Odyssey? Check out the Trusted Automotive Market Place LemonFree.com

Q: Honda Odyssey?
i have made a deal with honda for 31,200 dollars with 3.9% apr for 60 months for a honda odyssey 08 ex-l with rear dvd entertainment center and navigation system with 3 years of free oil changes is this a good deal or not or should i go with the sienna

A: It seems like a good deal for a loaded odyssey. My odyssey has 120,000 miles and the only mayor problem has been the sliding door because it costs 800 dls to fix.
The Sienna has had problems with the engine oil in the past. Toyota wanted the customers to fix that problem by getting a new 4000 dls engine! I think Honda wins this one!

Q: honda odyssey??
On my 2001 honda oddyssey i get 15 miles per gallon. Is that normal?

A: i guess it’s different depending on your travel or road condition. If you’re always driving in a highway road, your fuel consumption will be very good and if you’re always driving in the city road condition which has more junction, traffice lights, jammed etc. your fuel consumption will be poor.

Q: How to use Honda Odyssey rear headphones differently than sound in front?
We have a Honda Odyssey minivan and we can not figure out how to listen to XM radio or just CDs in the front while using the headphones in the back to listen and watch the DVD. We can get it to play different things (i.e. XM in front CD in back, or DVD in front and AM/FM in back). Does anyone know how to listen to the DVD in back and something else in the front?
Thanks!

A: I have talked to a couple of our salespeople and they said that you should start the DVD first then press the CD or XM button while the DVD id playing. This should transfer the audio for XM to the front. I hope this works for you.

Q: Can I disable the alarm when my 95 honda odyssey is locked with the remote but opened with the key?
I have a 95 Honda Odyssey. When I lock it with the remote, and open it with the key, the alarm goes off. Is there any way to make it so this doesn’t happen?

A: No

Q: Honda Odyssey Navigation System and how to reinstall a navigation software that are compatible with Malaysia?
I just bought a new Honda Odyssey(RB1) fully imported from Japan…This car is equipped with an original Japanese Navigation System and a HDD of course but only for use in Japan as all of the display and word are in Japanese. So is there any option available in Malaysia so that i can reinstall the software for use in Malaysia and of course contain Malaysia, Singapore and Thailand Map for GPS system…

A: Did a Honda dealer import it for you? If they did, they should be able to help you and give you the Navigation CD for Malaysia. If you bought it somewhere else, go to a local Honda dealer and buy a CD from them, and ask them for instructions how to do it yourself.

Q: what makes the honda odyssey pull to the left once I stepped off the accelerator pedal?
2000 honda odyssey ex; I noticed when accelerating, there is no problem. Issues arise when I let go the accelerator pedal, I noticed a slight jerk to the left. Its kind of annoying. I just had the auto transmission replaced and wheels aligned. Any ideas???

A: have the trans shop recheck all the mounts

Q: What is purpose of rubber ring on Honda Odyssey light?
I changed the headlight on my Honda Odyssey and found the headlight had a rubber ring around the light but I could not get it back on. The headlight works fine without it. What is the purpose of this black rubber ring and should I get it back on?

A: It is there to keep water and dirt out. I would put it back on.

Q: what does it mean when they say my honda odyssey is xm radio wired?
Ibought a 2006 honda odyssey and it is xm radio wired. What do I need to do to start getting xm radio?

A: Its prewired for XM all you need to do issign up for service and you can get Xm with out installing extra things. Usually when you get a car new they will give you 3 months free, that was the case with my TL and my cousins Element

Q: How much does the rotor for a 2000 Honda Odyssey door cost?
I have a 2000 Honda Odyssey. They tell me the “rotor” on the automatic sliding door is broken (causing it not to open or close correctly). How much does that cost to fix?

A: i think its the slide motor that there talkin about not the rotor…i cant remember a rotor in there…and if there is one it all comes as one unit and it is quiet expensive to replace very time comsuming and the part is like 300 i think

Q: How do i hook up my Ipod to a Honda Odyssey?
Hello,
I have a 2007 honda odyssey ex-L, and i just got an ipod.I was going to hook it up through the aux input, however i can’t find it even though it is supposed to be there. Is there any other way i can hook up my ipod to my car, without an aux connection.

A: The ‘07 Odyssey does not come standard with an AUX input. You can buy the http://musiclink.honda.com/Comp_Veh.html and it will go through your glovebox or pick up an after market interface here http://www.crutchfield.com/App/Car/MyCar.aspx?

The only other way to play your ipod is through an FM transmitter, but they don’t sound great.

Q: After replacing the timing belt on our Honda Odyssey, the AC and Heat stopped functioning, related?
After replacing the timing belt on our Honda Odyssey, the AC and Heat stopped functioning. Can this repair cause any problems with the environmental controls? The blowers still function but the AC does not give cold air any longer and the heat also appears not to be generating any heat. Is there something the mechanic could have touched to effect these functions while replacing the timing belt, the watter pump and the related flush?

A: its possible he might have disconnected the wires to the compressor to do this and forgot to hook them back up,that would be the only reason they wouldn’t be coming on at all, sometimes they do have to loosen some things to get them out of the way ,but they usually put them back, id take it back to the one that did it their responsible for it,good luck on it.

Q: What is the best oil filter for Honda Odyssey using synthetic oil?
I’m just about to do the oil change with Mobile 1 synthetic oil. What fileter do you recommend (brand and model) for 03 Honda Odyssey???

TIA

A: I use a filter by K&N. It’s highly rated and has that really nice 1 inch hex so it’s easier to install & remove with just a socket. Give it a try. Really nice.

Q: How much for Front Disc Brake Pad replacement for 2000 Honda Odyssey? Both front wheels with genuine Honda prt?
How much did you pay to have your 2000 Honda Odyssey frond disc brake pads replaced? Thanks.

Genuine honda brake pads are being used here.

A: had it done at the dealership sure i paid more to have it done but i know it was done right the first time and no worries it was about $425.00

Q: How many miles have you gotten on your Honda Odyssey?
I am considering purchasing a Honda Odyssey and wanted to know if the life span is longer than a Grand Caravan.

Also…Is $7,500 a good deal for a 2001 Honda Odyssey LX w/ 42,000miles ?? Thanks!

A: yes hondas are the best cars when it comes to life spans
they are good for 150-200 thousand miles
mine was 12000 48 thous 2001 also runs fine no prob

Q: Is it easy to Install the Drive Belt of an 2005 Honda Odyssey?
I have been told that the Drive Belt of my Honda Odyssey needs to be replaced (A rat has chewed a little bit of it. Can I buy the belt and install it on my own? I am fairly okay at working with my hands and have done some tinkering with cars before
How long do you think it will take to Install it. What tools are needed? Are there any websites which provide step by step isntructions?

A: yes you can try and get numbers off the old one which would be great.auto parts or dealer you can get it.simple 1,2,3, email me if you need more

Are you looking for a Nissan Versa? Check out the Trusted Automotive Market Place LemonFree.com

Q: Nissan Versa?
Anyone have a Nissan Versa? If so, how do you like it? Any problems?

I’m going to buy a car in a couple of weeks and am leaning towards that one.
I’m considering just the small cars in that category like the Corolla, Elantra, Fit, Xa…

I yes would love a 350z but unfortunately, just graduated college and need the most bang for my buck right now.

A: I have driven many of the Versa since I sell them… plus I’ve driven the Fit and the Yaris also. They all have pros and cons but the Versa has my heart. If you want great gas mileage, a huge interior, tons of optional features, more standard features, better safety rating, and better looks… go for the Nissan Versa! Ive sold many of them and have not heard one complaint… NOT ONE!

Just buy it and enjoy… I highly recommend the SL model… the CVT makes for a lot smoother ride.

Q: nissan versa ??
Today I heard a commercial that said the nissan versa was like 59 dollars a month? I was wondering if I heard wrong bit I know I heard the commercial say 59 dollars a month. Also is it a good for a first car? Just wondering

A: Well, $59 a month if you have awesome credit. That’s probably for a 72 month note too! Versas run about $16000 new. As for how good a car it is, I’m looking for reviews myself!

Q: Is the Nissan Tiida and the Nissan Versa really the same car?
I am looking to buy some altezza tail lights for my Nissan Tiida. I cannot seem to find anywhere that sells Nissan Tiida Tail lights in the USA (I can only find Nissan Versa altezza tail lights). Can anyone let me know if the Nissan Versa tail lights will work on my Nissan Tiida (This will save me the trouble of trying to return them if they do not fit) Thanks.

A: “The Nissan Tiida is a compact car manufactured by Japanese automaker Nissan, replacing both the long-running Pulsar and the Sunny models as of September 30, 2004. Available in Australia, South Africa, Finland, Ireland, former easten block countries, China and Sri Lanka as the Tiida it is also known in export markets as the Nissan Versa (North America) and Nissan Latio (Southeast Asia). “

Q: What are your experiences with the Nissan Versa?
I just test drove the Nissan Versa today. I really like the feel and look of this car. It’s very smooth and comfortable. The only negative thing I noticed it that the initial acceleration was a little sluggish and had to step on the gas harder to make it go. I’m curious to know for those of you who own or have driven the Versa how you like this car. Thanks.

A: Get the Versa SL model it has the CVT transmission that doenst shift and it gives the feel of more power out of your car plus better gas mileage. The car is great and whats his face above is wrong about the maxima being the only good car /w a CVT… the Murano is the Best but what would you know.

Just buy it and enjoy!

Q: What type of rims and auto audio system is good for 2007 Nissan Versa?
For anyone who has a Nissan Versa Hatchback and/or is a car enthusiast – what type of tire rims would you suggest? what type of auto audio system would you suggest as there’s really not much space in the trunk area? not trying to be the flashiest or loudest car on the road, please suggest something decent and also for the audio system, some size that will still leave some room (don’t want to take up a lot of space). Thanks for your help.

A: Something like these: depends on the color
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/17-Black-Rims-Tires-Civic-Miata-Xa-Xb-Golf-Sentra-Wheel_W0QQitemZ170168834005QQihZ007QQcategoryZ66483QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/16-Gold-Wheels-Escort-Civic-MR2-Lancer-Versa-Miata-CRX_W0QQitemZ170169462490QQihZ007QQcategoryZ66482QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/2-PIONEER-TS-W301R-12-SUBS-F2800-AMP-SUBWOOFER-BOX_W0QQitemZ300170103095QQihZ020QQcategoryZ38647QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
i like pioneer myself…

Q: Where can I buy a nissan versa cd player?
I bought a 2009 nissan versa without a cd player, and have bought four cd players and none of them seem to look good in the car. I would like to buy an actual Nissan cd player, but don’t know where to get one. Any recommendations?

A: I’m pretty sure this site has a it. They did last time I checked anyway.

Q: I have a 2007 Nissan Versa. Does anyone know how to turn off the check engine light?
We have a 2007 Nissan Versa and we have over 26k miles and the check engine light has come on. Does anyone know how to turn off the check engine light?

A: Check engine light came on for a reason. It could be something as simple as its time for a tune up, or something with the emmissions. Run it up to your local auto parts place like Napa, Pep Boys, Autozone…ect. They can run your ecu (cars computer) and check the cause. Make sure you write down the code and have the problem fixed. They can also clear the check engine light and its free. With that said, it will only come back as soon as the problem is detected again until its fixed. So its easier to get it fixed.
Also if you just filled up with gas, check to make sure you gas cap is on correctly. This can also cause check engine light to come on.
DO NOT TAKE TO THE DEALER THEY WILL CHARGE YOU FOR THE DIAGNOSTIC.

Q: How would I connect an AUX male adapter to a standard Nissan versa S radio?
On the net i have seen people solder the wire from old head phones to the circuit board of their radio. Does anyone know where i would solder some wire to the circuit board of the standard Nissan versa S radio?

A: That kind of stuff should be left to a professional as you don’t want to permanently damage your head unit if you don’t know exactly what you are doing. Dependant on whether it is an input or output RCA cable this is what i would do.

1. Input RCA Male connector (from and auxiliary source such as an in-car DVD player):

There is a way of doing this without any lossy signal like an FM Transmitter. I’m going to have to congratulate sparky for finding this one as i found it through a couple of his answers. It’s called an FM Stereo Modulator and lets you add an AUX input from RCA cables to your stereo.

This is the site sparky sourced it from:

http://www.crutchfield.com/S-9siE37nEvUV/App/Product/Item/Main.aspx?i=142FMMOD01

If you want to know how to install it, this is question has been answered well here:

http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20070329184041AAclWRk

2. Output RCA cable male connector (for an external amplifier or similar):

The easiest way to do this would be to buy a speaker level to RCA adapter. Crutchfield also sell these and are the same brand as the FM Modulator. Check out the site at:

http://www.crutchfield.com/App/Product/Item/Main.aspx?search=line+converter&i=142SLC4

To install this one simply wire your four speaker wires to this device and connect your RCA cable to the outputs and your done!

Have fun!

Ben./

Q: Where is the H02S11 oxygen sensor located on a Nissan Versa?
My check engine light came on and diagnostics test showed that the HO2S11 sensor in bank 1 sensor 1 failed. I would like to fix this myself, but do not know where to look. The car is a 2007 Nissan Versa.

A: If it’s a 6 cyl it will be the o2 sensor before the cat on the side of the #1 cylinder.

Q: How do I replace the shift knob on my nissan versa?
I have replaced shift knobs before but on the nissan versa you have to pull a latch up to but the car in reverse. I am not sure how you would replace this shift knob any ideas?

A: I doubt very much that you can replace that knob if it has a reverse latch on it.

Q: Is it possible to rebadge a Nissan Versa to a Renault?
I want to get a Nissan Versa. The only problem is that I hate driving Japaneese cars. The only reason I am getting it is it’s under 10k for a brand new car. I really want a Renault, but I can’t get one easily (are not sold in US). Since a Versa and one of Renault’s models are almost identical, is there a way I can rebadge it so it appears to be a Renault?

A: CLIO badges are available on e-bay I work on a blue Versa Clio. Before you buy a car with out radio and A/C think long and hard that car will not be worth much should you have to sell it. At least buy a Nice Versa. The front grill may be different but a couple CLIO’S and your looking like the parent company’s entry level car.

Q: What is the best gasoline for Nissan Versa?
Ok, i just bought my brand new 2008 Nissan Versa. Its full tank when I bought it and the driving was very smooth. When the gasoline has emptied after a week, I went to chevron and refuel it with premium gasoline. When i drove it, the engine created a little noise and it felt that the driving is not anymore smooth. I wonder what kind of gasoline they put in my car when i first bought it…
Its an SL with convinience and sport package

A: hurray answerer above me knows his stuff. Guess what the people who made your vehicle and the same people who decide what goes into your car’s manual, are smarter then you. And you know what they recomend for best performance for your car, regular grade. You do not need premium and when people who use premium don’t need it create an excess demand and since you can only get so much of a higher grade from the cracking process there is only one thing to do once demand is too high. Lower the grade. Already happened in california. 91 sucks. My car is tuned to run on high octane, well not anymore.

Q: Where is the AUX jack in the nissan versa?
Ihave a nissan versa and i am looking for the aux jack to plug in my ipod. Does anyone know where it is? Please help!

A: Im unsure…

Q: is nissan versa a good choice for a first car?
i looking to buy my first car, right now im considering the nissan versa. my concern is wether nissan is good car maker? are they a japanese car maker?

A: Nissan is a Japanere manufacturer. And the Versa would be an excellent first car. You might want to also consider the Honda Fit as it gets better fuel economy, and if almost all of your driving is going to be city, you might want to consider the Toyota Yaris.

Q: How many infant car seats can you fit in the back seat of your 2009 Nissan Versa?
How many infant car seats can you fit in the back seat of your 2009 Nissan Versa?

A: I would say 2 unless you had the very compact car seats. I think that the Radian line of seats are known for being slimmer and more compact. Even then, you could only use the latch system for 2 and then the seat belt for the third.

The hip room (across) on a Versa is 47.2 and the average Graco infant carrier is 17.2 across – so there is no way you could fit 3 for the “typical’ seat.

Best wishes!

Q: Volkswagen Jetta?
Is the Volkswagen Jetta a good car? I heard that after 1995 they became lemons-is this true? I really love these cars, and would like to consider buying one next year, but a relatively problem-free car is of great importance to me!

A: they all complain about “problems” but not a single one is listed.

They are repeating urban legends. The Jetta is a decent reliable car. Are you looking for New? 100K warranty so what is the fear. Lots of shops specialize in them so you aren’t pinned to the dealer for maintenance anyway.

ASE Cert Auto tech, 92 GTI16V 2.0L- A total problem car(hahahahahahahahahahahahaha)

Q: Volkswagen jetta?
a 2000 Volkswagen jetta with mileage of 108,216 is $4,400.00 a good price for it

A: Depending what COULD be wrong with it. Get a Carfax report first of all. The KBB of a stock, Jetta GL is $8,000 retail. I would check the car over carefully, a lot of students buy VW’s and a lot of students crash them. Run your fingers down the inside of body panels to check for paint bumps.. paint bumps = painting. Painting means it was probably in an accident of some sort. Tap the doors and listen for body filler, is there a dull sound or does it sound like metal? I have owned many VW’s and 4,400 sounds like a good price.. but it could have some problems. Hope this helps.

Q: volkswagen jetta?
im having leak probelm in my jetta and need someone to tell me where can i get it fixed do i have to go to the dealership because the left and right side r soak of water this is coming from the back area PLEASE HELP ME !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

A: Take it to a good mechanic, not the dealer.

If you have a sun roof, it could be clogged drains there.

Or one of the door drains could be clogged.

Or a leak around the rear window.

Q: Where can I get a volkswagen Jetta toy car?
I need a model car (1:48 size or smaller) of a volkswagen Jetta. Has anyone seen this, or a car that looks similar enough and know where I can get them?
I did an ebay search, no dice. Any other suggestions?

A: online ebay, search die cast cars in collectables or toys

Q: Should I buy a used or a new Volkswagen jetta?
I would like to buy a Volkswagen jetta. I found a 2006 value pack Jetta with 22500 miles at a dealership (not VW) for sale at $15,200. However, If I am not wrong, I can buy a brand new value pack Jetta for about $18,000 or so. I am not sure if spending few $$ more for a new car is better than buying the used one. Any suggestions?

A: If the options are the same, get the used one.

Q: what do the warning lights mean on my 2003 Volkswagen Jetta?
I have a 2003 Volkswagen Jetta with a warning light on I’ve never seen before. I’d like to know if there is a website that has specific information about these lights. Ideally, I’d like to find something that has a picture and description of what each warning light means. I do not have the owners manual. In case anyone knows, this light is a solid green circle with green dashes in a half circle on either side of the solid circle.
Correction. The lights are yellow, not green.

A: That light is a front brake warning light. There are sensors in the brake pads which activate that light if they detect weaking brake activity in the front. You should go and have that checked out.

Q: Why does your 2000 Volkswagen Jetta make a rattling noise when accelerating?
My 2000 Volkswagen Jetta makes a rattling noise when I am accelerating or just wating at stop light. The belt was replace few months ago. I tried to looked if there was something broken, but I didn’t find anything. It is a pain when you drive a car with rattlling noise. I need help and if you know anything about this problem please let me know what should be done.
Thanks

A: It is your heat shield either on your cat. or the top of your exhaust manifold. A very common problem. The one on top of the cat. can be removed but the one on the exhaust manifold will need a tack weld.

Q: How to replace key ignition switch 1991 Volkswagen Jetta?
I’m getting a 1991 Volkswagen Jetta later this week and the problem is it needs a key ignition switch. All I can find online is them without the keys. So what do I do have a locksmith come and make keys for the new one?
How much does this usually cost? Should I have the dealership do it instead? How much do you think they would charge?

A: You need to get a Bentley or a Haynes as they show you the Measurements to drill the hard pins out to take the lock Cylinder out of the steering lock.

To replace the electrical switch, you will need to remove the knee pad bar, the steering wheel (if air bag equipped) you have to disconnect the battery for 20 minutes prior.

You have to be carefull about the clock spring and be sure that you mark it prior to removal.
You then can take the 2 covers off the steering shaft to see the electrical switch.

There is more like removing the turn signal stalks and such as I am more familiar to a cabby then a jetta.

If you call a lock smith they will usually charge between 100-200 bucks. If your door key is the same as the ignition, you can remove a door handle and take it to the locksmith to have the key made without a house call.

Q: How to use cruise control on a Volkswagen Jetta?
So I bought a Volkswagen Jetta 2000, and no user manual came with it. I noticed that VW cruise control looks different (they’re not on the steering wheel like many cars I have driven, but on a handle to the left side). If anyone know how to use it, let me know, a bit more detail will be appreciated (ie: how to set cruise on, resume, coast, accelerate)

A: First off, ignore darren’s stupid comment. On the left hand side stalk, slide the lever to on all the way to the far end of the stalk, to shut it off, slide it all the way in. Next, accelerate to the speed you want to cruise at. On the end of the stalk there is a button, press that button in and let off the gas. Cruise is set, and if I recall on the 2000’s a light goes on indicating cruise, i.e. coast. Now, to accelerate with the cruise on you have two options. Hit the accelerator pedal and when you let off it, it will resume to your preset speed. Or, press the set button in, and it will accelerate or tap it at regular intervals. It will resume at the set speed.

Q: How much would a transmission job cost for a 87 Volkswagen Jetta?
How much would a transmission job cost for a 87 Volkswagen Jetta?

A: Let’s say it’s $2,000. Is it worth it? Trans jobs never turn out right. You’d be better putting the money toward a new small car like a Corolla, a Golf, a Scion tC, or something similar. The dealer should give you $500 for the Jetta even with trans trouble. If they don’t, go to another dealer.

Q: Mazda protege or volkswagen jetta as a first car?
I am going to buy my first car and i am undecieded on which car to choose. A 2001 mazda protege lx 2.0 or a 2002 volkswagen jetta gls 2.0. I like both cars but am not sure. What do you think?

A: I would go with the Jetta because you will get way more bang for your buck! And I don’t mean BANG as in your car will break down lol!

The Jetta has more of a solid feel and better quality overall. I believe (don’t quote me on this one) that some parts are from Ford in the Mazda vehicle. Not 100% but I do know for a fact that Mazda and Ford have done some swapping even thought Mazda was the only one taking the Parts and Ford did not ANYWAY, another reason why I would recommend the Jetta overt he protege is the fuel consumption and oil. I know the 2.0L in the Jetta is VERY fuel efficient, I know because I had a 2001 Golf GLS for 5 years and I gave it to my younger brother (20) for school because it’s so good on gas. Oil is another advantage, it doesn’t use syntic oil compared to others with turbos or V6’s due to the simple design in the engine (simple is good).
One thing that goes against the Jetta is certain maintenance costs. Though the basics are well…priced basic. There are certain check-ups that you will encounter which may be a lil pricy (like say if you reach the 110,000km (I use metric) mark then you’ll have a more adnavced check-up. But that’s of course rare. But it does depend how often you drive your vehicle.
Overall, it’s a good vehicle.

Q: How much does a new or used manual transmission for a 2003 Volkswagen Jetta cost?
I drive a 2003 Volkswagen Jetta with a manual transmission. I pulled to a stop light today and when i went to move forward the car wouldnt budge. I did everything to try and get it to move, and then to try and push it off the road, no luck.
The mechanic believes the synchro is broken and i may need a new transmission. How much would a new or used transmission for my vehicle cost me?

A: VERY unlikely!!! More likely your shift cable or linkage is out of whack. Might even be clutch fluid contamination. I would be really surprised if you have a gear problem, unless th trans was run dry, without proper VW gear oil in it. If it IS the trans, try Parts Place for all Volkswagens in Pontiac, Mi. 1-248-373-2300. They will have perfectly good used and new units. Good Luck!!!

Q: Convert a Volkswagen Jetta from automatic to manual?
Yea so my parents are handing me down there old Jetta and its in great condition considering its about 8 years old. Only problem is that it’s automatic and I really don’t like driving automatic. How much do you think Volkswagen would charge me to have it changed to manual? Is it even possible?

A: anything is possible, but that is highly improbable. The parts alone would run you over $1000 on top of the labor. And thats if the car comes from the factory with all the required tapped holes in the firewall for the pedals, master cylinder, along with the shift linkages. My advice would be to leave it alone. I was going to do this to my Eclipse I had, but once you realize how much time and money is involved, it just isnt worth it. If you want a manual real bad, just trade in the auto for one. No sense in butchering up a perfectly good car, Hope this helps, good luck to ya!

Q: What do you think of the Volkswagen Jetta?
I am considering a 2008 Jetta for my next car. I want to get it before the Sign and Drive offer is over. I have never had a Volkswagen. Please share your experiences. Thanks!

A: I am going to pick up several negative feedback on this one but I don’t like it. I worked on both VW and Audi. Having worked on several other cars, I find them poorly designed. The only positive thing I can say is the cars use German parts. Very little problem with bolts breaking off during repair.

Many unreliable electronic parts are used and they just cause problem on high mileage cars. The in dash display looses pixels, and the ABS modulator goes out frequently. Ignition coils goes out randomly and the engine computer isn’t smart enough to detect which one.

The timing belt service is twice as expensive than other cars because you have to take one side of the front bumper and swing it out of the way. This adds additional 2 – 3 hours of labor compare to other cars.

It is a nice car to drive. Its got that heavy Euro engineered feeling, but way too unrelable.

Q: How many miles would a 2005 volkswagen jetta gls last me?
Im thinking about buying a 2005 volkswagen jetta gls and i just wanna know how many miles can i expect it to last before i start having some serious problems

A: i just put a motor in my 96 …only because i needed to put in a transmission, it ran great with 170,000 i only changed it because i got a great deal with the trans. 50,000 miles for $900.

Are you looking for a GMC Sierra 1500? Check out the Trusted Automotive Market Place LemonFree.com

Q: How to clean and lube slip yoke on 99 GMC Sierra 1500 truck?
I need to know how to clean and lubricate the slip yoke on my 99 GMC Sierra 1500 truck. I am a repair novice, but I am wondering if I can do this on my own. I know the lubriant I need (GM Special Lubriant #12345879), but I do not know how to clean and lubricate the slip yoke. If someone would be so kind as to walk me through the process step-by-step (perhaps with service manual?), I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks.

A: just sand it down with any sandpaper and then use any grease or oil to lube it. Like the other guy said if not rusted no need to clean it. You dont need a special lube they just do that to make money. Just like on lawnmowers they say use expensive oil all you have to use is regular SAE 30

Q: What size speakers do I need to buy to fit in my 2005 GMC sierra 1500 single cab?
I’m wondering what size speakers I need to purchase to replace the two rear speakers in my 2005 GMC sierra 1500 single cab pickup truck. They are located right behind and a little above the drivers and passenger’s seat. I need to buy new speakers to replace the crappy factory ones.

A: you have 6 1/2″ on the doors and 4×6 on the rears pillars.
if you gona replace them in the front the ligth color wires are positive and in the back the dark color are positive.
if my memoy is not wrong is gona be fronts. ligth green/ green and tan/grey on the fronts, and blue/ligth blue brown/yellow in the back. so that means that ligth green and tan are positive in the fronts, and blue and brown are positive in the back.

Q: Would I have to buy new bigger shocks for a 6in lift on a 2000 GMC Sierra 1500 2WD?
I can buy a 6inch lift for my 2000 GMC Sierra 1500 2wd truck for a few hundred bucks. It consists of 3 in lift coils, 3 inch lift spindles, and 5” lift blocks with u-bolts. I was just wondering if I needed larger shocks because the stock ones will be maxed out. If I do please name what size and brand and stuff. Thanks!

A: yes you would. I reccomend rancho , when you order your shocks tell them what your situation is,,

Q: can you add a lift kit to a 08 gmc sierra 1500?
can you add a lift kit to a 08 gmc sierra 1500? eventhough it has the fuel management? and wont bring problems in the future?

A: i agree with the other guy you should get something else with that money lifting a truck is the stupidist decision ever it makes trucks look like shit
get a good gps and a nice stereo system

Q: Where can i find exterior replacement parts for a 1995 GMC Sierra 1500?
I have a 95′ Sierra stepside SLE with a 5.7 litre V8. The lower panels arond the outside of the truck are chrome and above it is chrome trim. I need to replace the trim and the GMC logo that was originally there but I can’t seem to find it anywhere. Any suggestions?

A: There is a website called LMCTRUCK.com they specialize in direct replacement parts for american made trucks from the 1940,S to present and they are really cheap…U can also order a catalog…..

Q: where is the o2 sensor located on a 2005 GMC Sierra 1500 crew cab z71, in front of the cat or behind it?
Was just curious where the o2 sensor is located on a 2005 GMC Sierra 1500 crew cab Z71, because I wanna put true duals, no cats with glasspacks!!?

A: You have 4 O2 sensors and 2 cats. You have 2 O2 per cylinder bank. So there is one sensor before the cat and one after the cat, for each side.

Running no cats will screw you, engine performance will be effected. Purchase some aftermarket high-flow units if you feel that you must get rid of the stock units.

Q: have a 2006 gmc sierra 1500 5.3 am looking to laptop it for performance?
have a 2006 gmc sierra 1500 5.3 am looking to laptop it where do i go to do that? looking for performance im in sacramento ca what will it cost? what will i need to buy?

A: I agree with what the other guy said. HPTuners is what the big names are using along with LS1 Edit. Check out Performancetrucks.net, they have a bunch of info about using HPTuners to tune. Actually, there’s a few members on that site that live in your area and might be willing to help you out. Go check it out. Good luck.

Q: How much of a lift should I put on my 2001 GMC Sierra 1500?
Hey everybody. I was just wondering what you all thought would be a good height for a lift kit on my truck. The Sierra 1500 sits a little low for me and I’d like it to look a little bigger with a lift. Nothing too huge, but something that would make it appear larger.

A: unless its a 4×4 and you actually use it off road frequently, major lifting is never a good idea.

just a two inch lift is probably plenty. but even that little of a lift will negatively effect your vehicles handling and make roll overs more likely. also you will want to consider a drop hitch if you tow trailers.

Q: 1996 Gmc Sierra 1500 extended cab 2wd transmission can a 1998 fit in the place of it?
I have a 1996 GMC Sierra and it’s transmission has went out. They only made this transmission for this specific year in 96. However I’m wondering if one from a 1998 Cheverolet Silverado 2wd ext cab will fit and plug up all the same!
it has a 4L60E in it if this helps!

A: a GM tranny only used in one year model???……not likely…..the 98 is most likely the exact same tranny…..it should work just fine!!!……look underneath and see if the bol pattern on the tranny pan is the same….if it is then the trannys are exactly the same!!!!!

Q: Trade-in a 2-wheel drive GMC Sierra 1500 for a 4-wheel drive or do the work yourself? Alot of money and labor?
I really want a 4-wheel drive, currently have a 2-wheel drive, been thinking of trading in my 1500 sierra but if i can save money making it a 4-wheel drive myself then i am all for it.

A: Converting a 2WD car to 4WD is nearly impossible unless you’re a serious professional with an enormously comprehensive set of equipment. You have to tear the entire car apart down to the drivetrain, transmission, diffs, etc. I have no idea what your background is, but it’s a safe bet you can’t do it.

Trade it in.

Q: No speedometer reading on GMC 1500 Sierra 4WD Replaced Vehicle Speed Sensors on Allison transmission. Looking?
No speedometer reading on GMC Sierra 1500 4wd. Do you have troubleshooting tips. Replaced vehicle speed sensors = no change. Thanks

A: Make sure it was the right sensor you replaced. They are 3 speed sensor on that trans Input output and drive. The one your after is off the tail shaft. They were also having trouble with the head units. It could be your going to have to it go to the dealer. See if you can found the tech bulletins for your truck as I recall one for speedos dropping out on your truck .The repair was to replace the head unit and reprogram it.Been off work for 6 month so not positive on it .Good luck hope I helped
GM tech for 20 years

Q: What kind of transmission does my 1995 GMC Sierra 1500 with cruise control have?
I have heard it could be the 4L60 or the 700, please help me out. The truck is an automatic with a V8 engine. Thanks in advance for the help.

A: Your truck has the 4L60E. The 4L60E was began use in the pickups in 1993. The 700R4 was the OD trans used in the ‘92 and older.

Q: What is the cheapest way to make my 1988 GMC Sierra 1500 into a cool mudding truck? lifted and everything.?
I’m only a 17 year old girl in good ol Wisconsin so i don’t have a butt load of money to go spend. But I’d really like to put a lift kit on it, bigger tires, get a paint job, and I’m already getting a glasspack so the muffler is fine. Any suggestions as to where I should go about making my truck totally awesome?

A: the best advise i can give you is go slow on your modifications.

you want to have a safe ride, by lifting your truck, and adding bigger tire you will be changing the performance of your engine (lower rpm’s and power) and if it is and automatic, this could cause your transmission to run hotter due to shifting and gear hunting) to correct this then you need to change gear ratio’s and while you are at it you might as well add limited slip and/or lockers. since you have a 1500 (1/2 ton) if you are running a 10″ differential then the largest tires you should run are 33″s. if you go bigger then you will need to swap for 3/4 or one ton axles.

you will have plenty of time to make it cool. drive it for a while and figure out if you really need a trail/mud runner and if you do then take a look at the major 4×4 lift kit manufacturers like superlift or trailmaster.

all of this cost $$$.

Q: what exhaust system sounds best on a 2003 gmc sierra 1500 4.3l v6?
I have a 2003 gmc sierra 1500 with a 4.3l v6 and i would like to put a dual exhaust system on it to give it a better sound, I dont want it to be so loud i just want a nice sound when i take off or stomp on it. any feed back is appreciated

A: I would go with a Flowmaster system. You will get a nice, deep sound. Plus a horsepower and fuel milage increase. They make a direct fit model.

Q: How to fit a after market speakers into a 2003 GMC Sierra 1500 Ext.Cab?
I am planning to replace my stock speakers with after market speakers. I ask because as was taking off the stock speakers, I notice that my 6.5 and 4×6 after market speakers will not stay on unless I drill holes to keep them in place. Do I need a speaker adapter to keep my new speakers in place without drilling holes or do I need to?

A: There are adapter plates sold at car part stores. Drilling is the easiest and cheapest way though. Before you do anything, remember, you cannot un-drill a hole. Measure first and mark before drilling.

Q: Ford Edge?
My Mom and I are considering buying the 2008 Ford Edge. I am About 6 foot 3 and enjoyed the amount of space in the edge compared to the explorer and escape. We are planning on traveling much and also would like to know if we should get the ford nav or aftermarket. Does anyone have any reviews on the edge or another vehicle that may be better.

I have always been a ford fan and we recieve the Z-plan on all new models of ford.

A: The Ford nav is cool but is comparable to the units such as Tom Tom and others with updates done by discs that cost $200 however.. the other units are cheaper to update but invite theft a lot more than the Ford in-dash unit

But I’ve found it to be very accurate once loaded up and set up

The edge I haven’t been able to really drive too many as they aren’t breaking down so that’s a real good sign:-)

But another thing maybe the Taurus X for fuel mileage but is more of a car than the Edge

Q: Ford edge………….?
I’m going to be starting drivers ed pretty soon. And my parents asked me what kind of car I would want. I love the look of the ford edge, but would this be a good 1st car? And do you like the looks of them? Thanks.

A: The Edge is quite crashworthy, and that is always good. It is a fine looking vehicle in my estimation. Several of my friends drive them and love them. I have one friend who crashed his and it did extremely well in the crash. It held together well and the passengers had no injury in a crash that occured at highway speed.

Q: How do you tell if your Ford Edge has Sirius capabilities?
My husband and I just bought a new 2008 Ford Edge. It has the auxilary button and iPod hookup but I was wondering how you tell if it’s Sirius ready? Does anyone know what buttons to press to get the phone number? Do you have to have SYNC in order to have sirius in the 2008 Ford Edge??? No hater’s please!

A: I just bought a brand new 08 mustang gt and it came with Sirius for 6 months. I’m assuming the Edge would come with it for 6 months as well. There should be a Aux button that you can press and it will say In line, Sat 1, and Sat 2. (press it a few times to scroll through these)

Q: How do I activate SIRIUS on my Sync enabled Ford Edge?
I have a 2010 Ford Edge with SYNC and the media system with the screen. There is no satellite radio button, but in the settings there is a SIRIUS Radio ESN, and there is a factory installed SIRIUS antenna on the roof. In the “media” section of SYNC, there is the usual jukebox CD and line in, but no satellite radio option – how do I get it to show so I can use it?

Thanks!

A: Go to Sirius.com to subscribe.

Q: Which used car would you purchase: A certified used 2006 Ford Explorer or a 2007 Ford Edge?
The Explorer has less than 21k miles and is in great condition. It’s certified used by Ford but has worse gas mileage than the Edge.

The Edge has 18k mi, but the CARFAX report shows an accident and damage to the front of the vehicle. No damage is apparent upon inspection of the car, but the extent of the damage is uncertain. I like the design of the Edge, but am reluctant due to uncertain damages.

Thoughts?

A: Without doubt , buy the Explorer , never buy a accident repaired car.The Explorer gives 18mpg
and the Edge 21 mpg , but the Explorer is more spacious, can seat 7, and is built more sturdy than the Edge, and above all its a certified vehicle.

Q: What’s the song from the ford edge commercial?
What’s the song from the ford edge commercial? It’s the one with the panoramic view and the friends are going out to dinner and the one girl looks up out the top window the whole time and then they call the car phone and ask if she wants to get something to go. I love this commercial! But I can’t figure out what song it is because all they said is “ooh” haha. Anyone know what it is or how to find out?

A: The Funeral
by Band of Horses

Q: I’m thinking about buying a Ford Edge, but for comparison, what are some similar vehicles from other makers?
I like the Ford Edge. I like the Escape too but I need something just a bit bigger than the Escape, so I am leaning more towards the Edge.

What are some vehicles from other auto makers that would be good to compare the Edge with in terms of price, size, and features?

Thanks!

A: You also should compare car insurance quotes for cars before buying one, for example here – carquotes.sinfree.net

Q: Where do you find the keypad code on a Ford Edge?
I just bought a 2007 Ford Edge and was not given the keypad code for the door. I checked the glove box & the owners manual with no luck. Can anyone tell me if it is hidden anywhere else on the car? I REALLY dont want to pay Ford to tell me.

A: some people think its on the powertrain control module, but I believe its in the fuse box. First ignore the random numbers that is attached to several wires, the sticker with the unique 5 digit code will be located on the fuse panel attached to the flat surface.

Q: How to connect ipod to my ford edge?
I have a Ford, Edge. I believe it’s a 2008 model. It has the Microsfot SYNC thing. When I connect my ipod with the USB into my car, it says the ipod has been connected. On top of the ipod screen i see the label for FORD. but. i don’t know how to get the music to work. it’s not working and i believe i need to push a few buttons to get it to work. help please?

A: ok once u have the ipod in press the aux button on the radio…then press menu (big round button on right) once in the aux menu…then use the seek buttons to find select src (source) and find ipod or USB in there and then it should play! let me know if this works or not i can try another thing too!! thanks man!

Q: What kind of bike rack can I use on my Ford Edge?
I just bought a new 2010 Ford Edge, but it does not have a hitch on it for a bike rack. I can’t reach to put my bike on the roof. Is there a rack out there that would work?

A: You could have a hitch installed on your car. Every time I buy a new car I insist that the dealer include a hitch once we have agreed on the price. Hitch racks are the easiest to install and remove, and they don’t touch any painted surface of the car which can cause scratches. There are many hitch rack designs, I prefer the type that support the bikes from under the wheels. I can install my rack and 2 bikes on the car in less than 5 minutes

Q: What class is the Ford Edge in at a rental car company?
Would the Ford Edge be considered a sport utility at a car rental company?

A: small SUV for hertz

Q: Does grand cherokee wheels fit on the new ford edge?
I got a 99 Grand cherokee, I got a set of 20” chrome wheels on my jeep…

I’m thinking of buying a ford edge crossover, and I was wondering if this wheels would fit on it?

A: check tire size, bolt pattern, and hub center. the 20’s might be too wide and tall for the egde, it’s a much smaller vehicle

Q: Is it better to buy a 2007 ford edge SEL plus make or a 2005 Nissan murano SL make?
Which vehicle will last longer? Why dont people buy a vehicle that was in an accident (minor-air bags did not deploy) Is it okay to get a Ford edge that was in a minor accident but not its fine..has everything or an older murano?

A: Which one is better is going to depend on how well the original owner(s) took care of the vehicle.

Without knowing anything about either vehicle, I would be inclined to say that the Murano will be the better vehicle.

2007 was the first year the Edge was produced, and I am always suspect of the reliability of the first model year of a vehicle.

Plus, the Murano is one of the most reliable SUV’s on the road.

If I were you, I would have the Murano inspected by a certified, independent mechanic. If something is majorly wrong with it, then consider the Edge.

Q: What do you all think about the Ford Edge?
Do you all like the Ford Edge? Im 15 about to be 16 my dad is getting me the ford edge do you like it?

A: I like it. Congrads on your dad buying you a car. Take care of it and treat it as if you bought it.

Q: When will the Ford Edge Sport be available?
I am interested in the Ford Edge Sport shown at the 2008 Chicago Auto Show. Any dealers know when this great looking vehicle will be for sale?

A: No Doubt the Edge is a nice ride, I have an 07′. The 09 Edge sport should be out sometime in the fall. (Sept., Oct.)
I sell Fords for a living so the info’s pretty dead on.

Are you looking for a Mazda 3? Check out the Trusted Automotive Market Place LemonFree.com

Q: …….Mazda 3…….?
Is Mazda 3 a good car?

A: Yes, but it depends on what you’re looking for in a car. If you want a decent priced vehicle with a good reliability record, go for it. And if you want it with a bit more pep, I’ve heard the 2.3liter 5speed engine on the hatchback has a bit more to it. Research what other people (car experts as well as owners) say about it here: www.edmunds.com . Also, go take one for a test drive.

Q: Mazda 3………………?
So, i’m about to turn 16 and i’m obviously car searching. I have really become to like the Mazdas. Particuarly the Mazda 3! I think it’s a nice, good sized car. Do you think this car is suitible for a 16 year old newby driver? haha, are they reliable cars? How much do you think I could get a decent used one for? I like the Mazda 3 sedan.

A: Mazda’s are pretty good cars, I think you’d like the Mazda 3. Although they are not as reliable as the Honda Civic or the Toyota Corolla, they do offer good fuel economy, pretty good safety features and decent resale value. If the Mazda 3 is out of your price range then look at the Mazda Protege. The Mazda Protege were great little cars and had a good reputation.

As for Matts statement. I have nothing against buying an American made product but I get tired when the American car I buy is on the dealers lift more than on the road. If you want to be part of the solution, then let the American engineer know that the product they are designing isn’t worth the paper is was sketched on. I have owned all American cars except for the last 2 and I now know why Japanese cars are FAR superior in design, quality, fuel economy and safety. The American auto industry builds what they want to build, the Japanese auto industry builds what will keep people coming back in their showrooms. Even with all the problems Toyota is having now, I would still buy a Corolla before I buy a Dodge, Ford or G.M. product. The only decent car that can compete with the Japanese small car is the Ford Focus. The only product that the American auto industry builds better than the Japanese is the pick up truck, and anymore that gap is narrowing every year.

Q: How do you compare Mazda 3 sedan to civic or corolla?
Hi,

It’s really hard for me to choose from these three cars: mazda 3, civic or corolla. I like the look of mazda 3 way better than the others, it’s more sporty. But I’m not sure whether Mazda has a reputation as good as Honda and Toyota.

Anyone has expericnce with Mazada3? Please help me compare!

Thank you.

A: My bias is the Mazda3. I own a Mazda and I would say that I am satisfied with the base product. I am pleased about the upgrades and I would say that I continue to be happy about my purchase, even now 3 years later. I will attempt to present choices that will greatly assist an informed decision.

Look at the base price and see what you get for the money. If you look close enough their are differences. Then separately review the option packages an look at the cost for what you would like on the car. You should have 2 columns, the base vehicle with it’s standard features and the options package, per vehicle. For clarity’s sake this would be the 3, Corolla and the Honda Civic. Rank them from lowest $ amount to highest.

Then drive them and see for yourself what fits your personality and your tunes. If it is a stick make sure it responds as fast as you think it should when merging on a freeway. The Mazda3 is a hit, by any Car Magazine, it is rare that you will find the 3 be trashed because it is a Mazda.

Mazda is the 5th largest Japanese car manufacture and continues to have a brand strategy that has responsive engines, light structure (gram strategy) and handling that brings a smile to your face. To say Mazda is as good as a brand is a tricky question. Mazda makes the best 2 seater the Mazda RX5 in the business, hands down, from 1989 to the present. Mazda has sold over 750,000 roadsters. Make no mistake this is Mazda’s halo car. Relatedly, Mazda is a leader in research and development with the rotary engine. This is a unique charachter that Mazda brings delivers to it’s customers. Yester years technology brought forward with todays solutions that were at onetime stubborn, now the Wankel is charmingly peculiar. They have the Mazda 3 which is a compact super car with it’s wide assortment of engine displacements, the same DNA that is baked into all of their product line, is in the bloodline with the 3 and it shows.

To say which one iCar Company is better than the other is subjective; but look at Mazda’s record over the last 8 years in the aforementioned vehicles and you wll gain an objective understanding that Mazda Motor Car is on par with it’s nearest competitors and exceeds them in the following areas: driving dynamics, they call this Kansei engineering, fuel efficiencies (depending on the country) Mazda has a 1.6 litre Common Rail Diesel that produces 46 miles to the gallon in mixed driving use. And finally, the MazdaSpeed series is a beast by anyone’s standard.

If you want something dfferent, reliable, fun and worth the purchase. I would suggest Mazda.

Q: What is the Mazda that looks like the Mazda 3 Hatchback and Mazda 6 combined?
Im not sure what the year is? maybe a 2000? But I’ve seen it driving around a couple times. It looks like a mix of the mazda 3 hatch back with the mazda 6. it looks like a hatch back but its not either mazda 6 wagon or the mazda 3.

A: probably a mazda 5 if it looks sorta like a stationwago; theres also a mazda 6- 5 door, but it that doesnt really look like a hatchback

Q: How do you tell the difference between a Mazda 3 and a Speed 3?
When the regular Mazda 3 is a hatchback, how do you set it apart from a Speed 3?

A: Bonnet is little bit higher but there’s no scoop.

Rear spoiler has two “spaces” between its own body and the fifth door while Mazda3 standard spoiler attaches to the fifth door across all its lenght.

I’d say the spoiler is the most visually distinctive feature. – See the “holes” – its MPS. Check out the links to the both cars’ galleries.

Rear bumper is slightly different, as is the front one, wheels are bigger exhaust ending slighly larger. But these are not details you’d normaly notice when a car passes you by.

Q: How is the mazda 3 SP23 a fun car to drive?
Im at the stage of purchasing a new car, my choices are either the mazda 3 SP23 or the new honda civic vti-l, ive been reading a lot of forums and it seems to me that almost everyone says that the mazda 3 is a fun car to drive hands down, i have never driven a mazda 3 before and just curious how is it fun??? such as performs better? handling? just how??? thanks!

A: I cannot comment on the Civic, but my friends recently bought a Mazda 3 i was really excited to see it and they was over the moon.

I jumped in it when they arrived and of we went already they look unhappy. But trying to put a brave face on.

My prob with the car was the dash was bulky and boring, the seating position front and back was uncomfy even for short runs,It was super nosiey in the back and featured a stock exhaust.

Problems came with the car after a couple of months with braking problems suspension problems and steering problems, although why the car was like new with my kids bike having more mileage.

Buy now they really are fed up with the car although stuck with it,due to payments etc ,and the work even under warranty all seemed to be probs out of that warranty.

Performance wise it would be unfair for me and one of my friends to judge as we own Skylines and Supra’s,but his partner has had really low cc cars before this and found it slow and boring and even scary with overtaking etc and had to drop through the gears anytime speed was dropped but scary on a big open road with heavy traffic.

So the comments might not match evey bodies thoughts on this car,and as said due to having sporty cars iam prob slightly wrong to judge as these prob are fun cars and exciting depending on what cars you have driven before, but as said my friends partner had,had slower cars before and lower spec-ed cars and she wants rid of this car asap.

Q: How have people found the servicing costs of a mazda 3 beyond 80,000km?
My last two Mazda 3 services have been approx. $1000 each? The car is serviced every 10,000km by Mazda.

Is this normal for a car that now has 90,000km on the clock?

Interested to hear from anybody who has more kms on a Mazda 3 about how they have found the servicing costs beyond 100,000km.

A: It really depends on what they are doing when they service it! you should get a checklist of the services and

1 ask another mazda dealer
2 ask an independent japanese repairshop

I assume you are in CANADA since you say dollars but use km. nonetheless, the US, i expect to change the oil every 7500 miles, pay about 300 dollars at 30k 60k and 90k miles to change all the fluids, brake, trans, engine coolant and oil, replace filters.

timingbelt/waterpump at 90k extra $500

I would be surprised if you were pay $1000 for standard maintence unless you had the timing belt or full brake replacements at the same time.

standard maintence is found in the owners manual but you could look it up at mazda.

Q: How often should Mazda 3 transmission filter be replaced?
I have a 2005 Mazda 3 A/T, currently at 78k miles. I asked Mazda technician regarding the transmission filter and I was told that it does not need replacement. Neither the manual book make any mention about replacing it. But I do know that there is a filter inside the transmission oil pan. Can someone tell me if this is true? Thanks…

A: Almost all modern cars with automatic transmissions never need the trans fluid replaced of the filter cleaned or replaced. Remember unlike the engine oil which is exposed to combustion by products, a modern trans mission is a sealed system and dirt can not make it into the fluid.

Q: What is the song on the new mazda 3 commercial?
I saw the mazda 3 commercial (with the flags) and i really liked the song but i cant find it anywhere. Does anyone know what it is?

A: If it’s this commercial (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=knBNI_PkBg4), it was created just for the commercial, and is untitled. Cool song!

Q: How do you install after market tail lights on Mazda 3?
I just bought some led tail lights for my mazda 3 sedan, opened the trunk and realized there is a metal backing around the lights, anyone that has done this could you help? Pictures if possible =(

A: i think you need a square screw driver to get it off. Make sure u dont FORCE it out. taillights have alot of screws attached to them so be carefull.

Assuming that you are not that familiar with cars, take it a shop that you know or get to know a local shop and they might not charge you for it if you go there all the time. (if not its like what 20 bux?)

Q: What is up with the air recirculation in my Mazda 3?
I have a 2009 Mazda 3. I have asthma, so I keep the air recirculation on, except of course when using the defroster because obviously the car doesn’t allow that.

Sometimes, I’ll notice that I smell the truck exhaust and look down to discover that air recirculation is off again.

What’s the deal with that?

To repeat, I know you can’t use recirculated air for the defroster on this car. This is happening when the defroster is not on and has not been on.

A: Here I thought my Miata was haunted, it does the same thing when I am not looking. I just live with it.

Q: Is it easy to reposition a Mazda 3 roof rack?
I have a Mazda 3 roof rack (in Australia), which needs to be repositioned a bit. Is this easy to do. I have removed the actual bars and looked at the positioning points and these seemed to be secured to the car with an unusual bolt and I do not have a tool to unscrew it. Can you actually move it, if I could unbolt it, or are these screwed into the car body work? Cheers.

A: ok

Q: How can I change the digital odometer on my 2005 Mazda 3 S to display in miles instead of KM’s?
My wife immigrated here from Canada. We got her car titled and registered in our home state. Now we need an inspection. But to do this, I would like her odometer to read in miles instead of KM’s. She has a 2005 Mazda 3 Sport 5 door. Is there a way to do this using the steering wheel controls and the buttons on the dash? Thanks.

A: It’s very unlikely you’ll need to replace anything if it’s digital.

I have a 2005 RX8 and I simply have to push and hold one button that sticks out from the gauge cluster and it changes the display from KM/h and KM-odometer to MPH and mile-odometer. I very much doubt your 3 is any different.

The process should be detailed in the owners manual. If that’s been lost check Mazda’s website for a downloadable manual. If you can’t find that just look for a button/stick near your speedo/odo and try pushing/pulling/holding and see what happens.

Q: How much does it cost to repair a smashed headlight on a mazda 3?
So I just rear-ended someone and his car did not have not even one tiny scratch while my mazda 3 is all messed up The passengers side headlight is all smashed and the hood got bended a little. Should I call my insurance? will my insurance go up? how much will it cost?

A: Dont call your insurance because it will go up on you, you can probably find yourself a cheap headlight at http://www.mazda3club.com/ or even http://www.mazda3forums.com/ just ask around the forums and someone will probably sell you one for cheap or even try on ebay. And your hood you can probably have an autobody shop do it for cheap.

Q: How much horses can you get out of the Mazda 3 i model?
Hey I was wondering how much or whats the maximum horse power you can get out of the Mazda 3 i model, it comes out the factory with 148 HP…. How much can it go up to?

A: it’s the same block & heads with small mods as the mazdaspeed version (except direct injection of course). i have seen 200 hp on a single turbo with 6psi. nothing else

Q: Hyundai Elantra?
Does anyone one own a Hyundai Elantra, what’s your opinion on fuel consumption, performance, and maintenance. Any tips or tricks to keep it running smooth?

A: I have been looking at them, too.
Quickie conversations with owners at parking lots, etc.
are 99% very positive about them. Warranty is tops, gas mileage from high 30′ – low 40’s !!!
Important – shop the dealers! Many negatives from buyers about a dealer here in Mass. south shore.
Ask around, good luck
Shalom

Q: hyundai elantra?
thinking about buying a 08 elantra and can’t find a reason not to. any feedback from other owners would be appreciated.

A: i think the new elantras are rated high and might have been picked as small car of the year. they are very quiet on the inside, good ride, and have good power also.

i would recommend one!

go for it!

Q: How well does the Hyundai Elantra’s ipod connectivity work with older model ipods?
I recently purchased a 2009 Hyundai Elantra and i would like to use it with my ipod. I know that you can go out and buy the cord from Hyundai to connect the ipod to the audio system directly but i have questions about the compatibility of that cable with an old dock connecter ipod (2003).

Does anyone have any experience using an older ipod with the Hyundai connecter?

A: It doesn’t have a doc connectivity (aux but no doc).. There no built in doc connector. You can buy the ipod doc that plugs into lighter socket. This should work. The newer ipods are the ones that are incompatible with the older accessories

Q: When are the Hyundai Elantra Touring and the Honda Insight going on sale?
These models are called 2009 models (Hyundai Elantra Touring) and the Honda Insight but they aren’t for sale yet. When will these models be available to look at in the dealers? Thanks for the insight (no pun intended). Do you know what the price ranges may be?

A: Not sure about the Honda Insight but this will give you more info about the Elantra Touring

http://www.hyundainews.com/Media_Kits/2009_Models/Elantra_Touring/Pricing.asp

Looks like it will be available in a few months.

Q: How to replace the headlight fuse on a 2003 Hyundai Elantra?
I’m trying to replace the left headlight fuse on my Hyundai Elantra, but all I get when I search online is referrals to other places. I’ve tried Hyundai Forums, but it won’t let me register or log in.

Could someone please give me instructions on how to do it?

A: In most cars the headlights are fused together in other words if the fuse burns out the headlights go out. If one light is out you need to check the bulb not the fuse.

Q: Can another Remote to a Hyundai be programmed for a 2004 Hyundai Elantra ?
My daughter has a 2004 Hyundai Elantra and she only got (1) One Remote with the car.

We have another Hyundai Remote for a car we no longer have
Can it be programmed to work on her car?

And if so, How?

Thanks in advance for your time and assistance.

A: possibly although you would have to have it programed by you local hyundai dealer

Q: How to turn on fog lights on my hyundai elantra?
Can’t for the life of me turn on these freaking lights. My dad even tried and we both feel stupid. So my 2002 hyundai elantra, where is the freaking switch for the fog lights? And no it is not on the light switch on the left (with the turn signal), I’ve tried didn’t work.

A: But that’s where it is; on the turn signal stalk to the left of the steering wheel. You have to turn on the headlights first, then the fog lights will come on. They will not come on if your headlights aren’t on. Actually, you’re not suppose to have the fog lights on without the headlights.

Q: My 2005 Hyundai Elantra makes a squeaky sound when I turn the wheel to the max, whats the problem?
(The car is a stick-shift) My 2005 Hyundai Elantra makes a squeaky sound when I turn the wheel to the max, whats the problem?
Also when I brake there is a squeal
Any Ideas?

A: The power steering system is at its maximum limit and therefore it is trying to do more than it was intended to do. Dont turn the wheel to the limit, kinda useless as the wheels hit a steering stop built into the system.

Q: What is the best GPS for a 2000 Hyundai Elantra?
I have a 2000 Hyundai Elantra. If I had tons of money I would not own an Elantra. Any suggestions on a good and reliable navigation system? I’m tired of getting lost and have no intention of buying a new car any time soon. I love my Hyundai! Thanks!

A: tom tom

Q: Installing a cd player in a 2000 hyundai elantra?
I need to replace the cd player in my mom’s 2000 Hyundai Elantra. Does anyone know how I’d go about removing the dash to get to the unit itself? I’ve installed cd players in my Tiburon, but the dash is completely different than the Elantra and I’d just like to know for sure. Thanks!

A: Explore it and see what happens? thats how i figured it out n a couple of the cars ive done this too

Q: What number is the headlight fuse on a 2003 Hyundai Elantra?
I forgot to specify this in my other question. I’m trying to replace the fuse on my 2003 Hyundai Elantra, but I don’t know which number fuse to replace it with. Anyone know the number?

A: You have a couple of relays inside the fuse box from engine compartment. Check this picture for location. You have to first check the bulbs if are burned or not. Then check continuity on both – high and low beam relays.

Copy and paste this address into web browser:

Otherwise check fuse #20. Is a 10 A fuse: see image below:

http://hysis.hyundaicanada.com/viewer/dispimg.asp?path=/data/Passenger/HY/HMA/ENG/SHOP-Images/HY-XD13-IMAGES-ENG/etke039a.gif

Hope this will be your best answer.

Q: Where are the spark plugs of a 2000 Hyundai elantra located?
The engine light of my hyundai Elantra 2000 came on. It says there is a miss fire in cylinder 3. I just replaced the crankshaft position sensor and it was running fine for about a week. Someone said I should replace my spark plugs. I am not exactly sure where they are located on the Elantra.

A: I have an 05 Elantra. On my car their is a plastic cover over the top of the engine , held on by 4 bolts . Remove these bolts and the cover lifts right off . Directly underneath right on top the engine you will see 4 plug wires coming in . Lift by the boots of these wires to remove the plug wire from the plug. The plugs will be recessed down in their about 5 inches , you will need a sparg plug socket and an extension to reach down in there. Install the new plugs and once they are snug give them another half turn. I suggest pulling one plug at a time and replacing with the new so as not to cross the plug wires . It really is an easy job that anyone can do. The new platinum plugs will run about $3 each X 4 + $12 . You will save around $40 or more on labor . Just did mine this week , It took me all of about 20 minutes.

Q: Where can I find the drain plug in my Hyundai Elantra?
I want to change the radiator coolant in my 2002 Hyundai Elantra. Where do I locate the proper drain plug?

A: take it to your local oil change shop. they have a machine that will get 98% of the old fluid out by cycling all the way through the coolant system including the heater core. This service will run you between $49 an $89 depending on which coolant you use.

If you really want to do it yoursel it is on the bottom of the radiator usually located in 1 of the corners. It should resemble a wing nut.

Q: How to replace the oxygen sensor on a 2003 Hyundai Elantra GT?
I have a Hyundai Elantra and I would like to know if anyone knows a website or any information on how to replace the O2 sensor.

I wouldn’t want to take it to a garage because it would be way too expensive. The part itself is expensive so I wouldn’t want to spend anymore. Any ideas?

A: peice of cake. once you have the part you know what it looks like, right?
now open the hood and look down behind the radiator , on the engine , it’s right in that area and easy to replace your self. save your receipt, file it with your records. your car is still under warrentee and it’s important with hyundai that you have 100% records of repairs and maintenance as to not void your warrentee.

Q: What’s the difference between a Hyundai Elantra GLS and a Hyundai Elantra SE?
I am looking into a Hyundai Elantra and I would like to know the difference between the two. Can someone help me?

A: The main difference between the 2 is safety equipment. The SE has Electronic Stability Control and Traction Control.
Others include leather, 16″ Alloy wheels, a telescoping steering wheel with audio controls and a trip computer.
Price difference would be around $2000.
The SE trim model was the one chosen as Top pick by Consumer Reports.
