Q: I own a 1992 Chrysler Town and Country mini van with an Infinity am/fm radio. How to install an amp and subs
I have an amp and subwoofers in my other van which I plan to donate but I want to remove the amp and subs and place them in my current van. I don’t want to pay $90 to have that done if it is fairly simple. So I just need a little help in how to connect the amp to the radio.
A: If the deck is stock then you will need to check fo rca plugs,if it has them then plug the rca cables into the deck and amp hook up the power wire from the amp to the posotive on the batery and then hook up the ground from the amp to something metal around the amp.If it doesnt have rca plugs then you will need to get a conversion box from an aotu part store, the box hooks up two any of the speaker wires ont the deck and turns them into rca plugs. If you need more help or more detail then e-mail me at snowmogoer@yahoo.com
Q: 99 chrysler town and country?
I installed a after market radio into a 99 chrysler town and country , it did not have a radio at all in it,, It has the infinity sound system from the factory witch means it has a factory amp,, I hooked it up and works great until you try to turn it up load then the amp starts kicking on and off,, I am a certified tech and I know how to hook a radio up, So no stupid answers,, Like i said it plays good on low, but put a song or cd in that makes some base and it kicks on and off,, Has anyone ran into this problem before,,, Just curious does the Amp/power antenna wire put out enuf volts to keep the relay on,, Im thinking that it don’t and when the base hits the voltage may drop just enuf to kick the relay off,,, ,
A: this probably will not help, but i once had a truck that had a factory amp in it and my husband and i ended up having to bypass the factory amp and hooking in another amp to replace it. I’m not sure how he did it but it worked and then i had some kicken jams.
Q: Why aren’t my 1997 Chrysler Town & Country’s brake lights working?
I have replaced the high center brake light bulbs (the left and right, I am unable to tell whether there is a middle bulb, and if there is a center bulb, would not changing this one effect all the other brake lights?) and have replaced the 20 amp Mini Yellow fuse in the fusebox, but all the brake lights in the rear of the vehicle are not functioning. Note: all the parking lights still work, just not the brake lights (including the left and right main brake lights.) Why is this happening? Thanks.
A: The brake switch by the brake pedal is probably faulty, and there is also a recall about the rear light not functioning in T&C, Caravan and voyager.
Good luck.
Q: Need the location of stereo amplifier in a 1996 Chrysler Town and Country minivan.?
How do I get to the amp and remove or bypass it
A: you don’t have to remove them or bypass them if you do that you also have to replace all ths speakers because they are 1.5 ohms and it will burn your new head unit
the best way is to install ahte new radio and use the blue wire to turn on the factory amplifiers it will sound good and you don’t have to take half of the van apart
there are 4 amplifiers and you can find them behind the 6×9 or 6×8 speakers
Q: What type of Car Amp do I need to power 3 pairs of Audio speakers?
I have a Chrysler Town and Country and I want to replace the audio speakers and head unit. I want to get 2 pairs of Pioneer 3-way 6×9 and 1 pair of Pioneer 5 1/4. I just need to know what type of amp I need to get to power all the speakers and the head unit. I will also be adding 3 subs and an amp for those as well. Any advice??
A: Um, I would probably try to find a good 6-channel if you are looking for the best staging and sound quality. Most of the best decks, though, like alpine, pioneer, etc. will only have 3 pairs of RCA’s so for one of the 6 channels you will have to use an RCA splitter. If you dont want to do all that, find a good 4 channel amp that can be bridged down so you can run 4 speakers on 2 channels, and 2 speakers on the other. You will need to look at the RMS wattage of the speakers and the RMS wattage of the amp, and you want them to be pretty close to matching. With interior speakers you can somewhat under-power them, but its still good to run them at their RMS. So I guess the main thing is that you want to dinf a deck with at least 3 sets of preouts…
Q: recently installed speakers and wanting to get ideah and advice?
i have a 2000 chrysler town and country.i recently added to 1800 watt peak power acoustics and a 1920 watt amp.when i got them installed(because imma newb at installing systems) they told me it would hit harder if i put them closest to the back hatch as possible and facing the hatch.now im not sure if this is right..it makes no sense.unless theyre saying it hits harder by shaking the body of the van first..rather than just aiming towards the front.not i have the bench seat in the middle.and the very back open.so theres plenty of room.would it hit better if i turned it around?
and there so much debate on how to reduce rattles..and best battery.ive though about buying a auxilery batters..and mounting it back there..but would it just drain eventually..and is it necessary?
A: If you turned them around they would be facing the seat. That would dampen the sound. When the sound hits the window it vibrates the window and the car. This will create a louder but less clear quality sound.
