Q: Is the 2005 Chevrolet Equinox a good car?
Hi there I am looking into purchase a 2005 Chevrolet Equinox. Just wondering for the price is it a good, safe SUV, and is what is the fuel effeicentcy? Or what would you suggest for around the same price?
A: The Equinox isn’t the best small SUV at the pump. The official window sticker wasn’t even close to actual performance. My customers are averaging 17-20 across the board when they were rated between 19-24. The Buick Rendezvous is a good alternative. Fuel economy is better along with construction quality. There are less rattles and the option for a 3rd row seat makes a huge difference.
Q: Anyone know the dealer price for a chevrolet equinox?
I am thinking of getting a Chevrolet Equinox, either an 06 or 07, either way, no miles on them. My question is for anyone who may know the average amount that a dealer buys this vehicle for? What is a good estimate of what the car dealership paid for this vehicle? IE, how much money do they have tied up in this vehicle?

A: Invoice price, minus a 3-5 percent holdback. If you dealer is honest and fair they should sell you ANY NEW equinox for INVOICE PRICE. Don’t let them fool you they are still making money and you aren’t getting ripped off. If they are fair they will show you the invoice, and if you take your time you can figure it out. Invoice price its as big as day on there, but near the bottom you find things like advertisings costs and marketing costs (etc.) and that is the holdback and don’t expect the dealer to give that up, however you can try. Thank you for buying an Amercan car and I hope you enjoy it for many years.

Q: Does the new 2010 Cadillac SRX share its platform with the new 2010 Chevrolet Equinox?
I happened to see an ad on the new 2010 Cadillac SRX, and the air vents look like those on the 2010 Chevrolet Equinox.
A: Nick is absolutely right they all share the same platform with much much noticeable differences. I’ve also heard that Buick will get a CUV on the same platform but it will have the Voltec system.

Removal Procedure
Remove the rear quarter trim panel. Refer to Rear Quarter Lower Trim Panel Replacement .
Remove the rear speaker fasteners.
Disconnect the electrical connectors from the speaker.
Remove the speaker from the vehicle.
Installation Procedure
Install the speaker into the vehicle.
Connect the electrical connectors to the speaker.
Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.
Install the fasteners to the speaker.
Tighten
Tighten the fasteners to 2.5 N·m (22 lb in).
Install the rear quarter trim panel. Refer to Rear Quarter Lower Trim Panel Replacement .
Q: how do you adjust/where are the adjusters for the headlights on a 2005 chevrolet equinox?
I have a 2005 chevy equinox and I just replaced the headlight bulbs and they are out of adjustment but can’t see where the adjustments are to get the lights back where I want them.

Look for 4 screws in a square pattern, with a key-shaped hole in the middle. Below and to the left or right is is a bolt, looks to be holding the headlight assembly. Just beside that bolt, deeper in, is the vertical adjustment screw. There is no horizontal adjustment.

I am Getting a 2010 Chevy Equinox when they come out next month and I am wondering how much extra leather will cost! Because Chvey/GM even though I love them do not have very nice cloth seats and I dont know what the cloth seats look like in the new equinox!
A: to get leather you have to get a higher package so that can cost a bit. You could add leather that costs $1000 for a dealer to install leather.

A: The SRX is built on the premium midsize crossover architecture unique to Cadillac. The Saturn Vue and the Chevrolet Equinox are built on the compact crossover architecture. Subsequently the GMC Terrain is also built on the compact crossover architecture as well. I hope that answers your question.

Q: Is the cargo area of a (rental) Chevrolet Equinox adequate for luggage for five people ?
Checked specs: the cargo capacity is said to be 31.4 cubic feet, but that really doesn’t tell you anything. No width or length are given for the cargo area, no floor dimensions. So it seems that only someone with experience with this vehicle would know. We would be picking the car up in another state, and of course I would like to be sure in advance.
It’s for 10 days, 3 adults, 2 kids, ages 9 and 10.
No, actually 12 days.
A: Yes and no. The equinox can sacrifice foot space in the back seat for cargo space. If you are packing for 5 days or more for 5 adults it would be tight if its hard side luggage. If its for a family of five with soft sided luggage it should work.

A: Same vehicle, different name for the country it is sold in. BTW, I bought an Equinox 5 weeks ago, and I LOVE IT! I average 19-20 mpg, with mostly in town driving.
Q: 2010 chevrolet equinox, what are the differences between LS and LT trims?
I specifically want to know if there are any interior differences. LT1 says that it has premium cloth seats, but the pictures look the exact same as the LS seats, are they different?
A: I have done a lot of research on this and ended up purchasing the LT1 because I liked the seats/ interior better. There is a difference in appearance with the LS you can only get two toned such as black/titanium interior. On the LT1 you can get an all jet black interior with the black seats, which I prefered over the two toned. Hope that helps.

A: Actually a nice vehicle. More car than truck as are most new ‘crossover’ vehicles. While looking at the Equinox you should also see the Pontiac Torrent and the Suzuki XL7. All three are basically the same vehicle built on the same assembly line. BETCHADIDNTKNOWTHAT!
Q: I’m looking for the installation procedures for a front wheel bearing for a 2006 Chevrolet Equinox.?
I also need to know the torque specs.
A: Pull the hub off, pound the old bearing out with a hammer, you can either slide the new one in, or in some instances it needs to be pressed in, in which case, call a machine shop with a press and they can do this for you. Installation is the reverse of removal.
